If you need to convert between currencies, use this:But don't count on getting those rates when you go to one of our Australian Banks as they 'spread' the rates to their advantage when you buy or sell through them. Think 5-10%, depending on the currency.

We use OFX for work as they offer good rates and service. One of the biggest problems with overseas online shopping sites is that they "accidently" quote the bank buy rate instead of the sell rate (or vice versa, I can never remember) which can result in quite a shock when you get the bill! It is the oldest trick in the book.

It is different when you are Overseas and using an Australian issued Credit or Debit Card though.
They are processed using the Visa or MasterCard (or AMEX etc) Rate which is MUCH better for the customer. But our greedy Banks are onto that as well and add a Commission (CBA charges 3% for MC and Visa) to the transaction!!.

I like to have a convenient Currency Calculator to convert, say, Venuelan Pesos into Australian Dollars when a project priced in VEP is seen on RP.
