Labor gets busy taking the p1ss about ScoMo's photoshopped shoes. Meanwhile ScoMo is on about what people should wear to Citizenship ceremonies.
Isn't it great to see the pollies concentrating on the really important issues?

That is all.

Scott Morrison's embarrassing photo-shop fail - News.com.au

Absurd, why even bother doing something like that?
As in why would the Labor leader's media unit even bother reporting that?   Just means any future photo shop fail by Labor will be even more embarrassing.

Nice family photo BTW.

It got reported by News.com.au! Surprised

Meanwhile things not being widely reported by commercial (mainstream) media include the terrible situation with the Darling River fish kills. Not nice photos BTW and not a federal minister to be seen.

She was my local member for several years, I was pretty underwhelmed with a few of her performances. In particular her report into foreign investment in domestic real-estate was a total white-wash, she deliberately stymied efforts to quantify what was going on and openly admitted the law wasn't being enforced (too bad, Australians). Frankly she's the embodiment of everything wrong with the LNP, too much brazen self interest standing in the way of good policy and a complete lack of care for the Australian public.

I understand that a number of pollies applied for the job of village idiot, and they were all refused on the grounds that they were over-qualified.

Barnaby Joyce proves yet again that he's not suitable for high office by publishing a book defending his own actions in dumping his wife and kids for a much younger woman. He's also expanding his new family with another boy (didn't want a girl) - News.com.au:

Barnaby Joyce and his partner Vikki Campion are expecting their second child, another son which they plan to name after the politician’s late younger brother, Timothy.

Ms Campion is already showing a baby bump and the child is due in June when their first son, Sebastian, will be 14 months old, the Sunday Telegraph exclusively revealed... The 33-year-old had been surprised at the pregnancy, she said, because doctors had told her she was unable to have children.

“My mum she calls him miracle baby because that’s really what he was. I’m really grateful for what we’ve got,” she said.

After the arrival of the couple’s second little miracle, Ms Campion is said to want to return to her career as a media and communications adviser.

Between Barnaby Joyce, that idiot Kelly O'liar and that drongo Pyne, you could make a good case for the introduction of breeding licences.

Barnaby in particular, the man has no insight whatsoever. He had to be jack-hammered out of the Deputy PM job even though his actions in ditching his wife and kids for his media adviser tended to show he really wasn't leadership material. And now he's trying to worm his way back to the leadership of the Nats? He has no clue how his actions have come across and frankly doesn't seem to care.

I really hope the people of New England ditch him - there's a concerted campaign going in his seat to get him out along the likes of "Anyone but Tony (Abbott)" in the seat of Warringah. Frankly the LNP needs to get rid of all this dead wood and start again, they don't represent the people that elect them and they're too ingrained into the "game of mates" thing.

Yea, the one thing I think we will agree on is that the LNP needs to modernised and many moved on. Fresh blood, new thinking, less extremism (far right), equality of the sexes.

TA, yes its time for him to depart at the next election. Please Tony for your own credibility and I think personal mindset, retire for politics.

As for Barnaby, the anti Barnaby calls are mostly from outside the Nationals and I don't think it will affect him at all. Even after loosing his seat over citizenship issue, he came back with an increased majority, something like 70% or what ever primary vote. But high regardless and goes to show that likely the bulk of Australians don't agree with Section 44 which is basically Anti-Australian and would be deemed racist if written today. Over the Girl Friend issue, I doubt this will cause lasting damage if its even lasted this long. A few Bible bashers may have their noses out of joint, but not many.

Returned with an increased majority BEFORE he told his electorate about his secret lover and new family.

It's not an issue of morality, I don't really believe it comes into it. It's a question of someone with a lot of authority and power who has exercised some extremely poor judgement reflecting badly on his character and putting a question mark over weather someone like that should even be in public office. At least Andrew Broad had the sense to realise that he'd done his dash and resigned - Barnaby thinks that he should be Deputy PM again because he's Barnaby.

Delusional. Hopefully the voters of New England do us all a favour and turf him out on his ar*e.

Oh yes, it was BEFORE but it was also AFTER the citizenship issue which many here including yourself said it should cost him his seat, because he lied, he cannot read, doesn't know the rules, deceived the voters, morally wrong, blah blah blah, whatever..... and affair will have happened more than 18mths BEFORE the next election, by which time most voters won't give a #$@& about it either.

Put it this was nearly 25% of the people who voted for him last time will need to change their minds, some will for other reasons regardless.

Not sure its on the same level as Andrew Broad, rather more of the same level as Billy Shorten and a long list of others. The only thing that made this affair potentially "worse" than others was that he got her pregnant before he told his wife.

Personal opinion, I'm not sure if I'd vote for him if he was in my seat, but I strongly believe he will return on primary vote alone, again. Should this happen, then like the Citizenship issue, the tribe as spoken and the affair and any comments or referencing it about his morals and personal character are therefore irrelevant going forward.

It's seems to me like it's kinda gross incompetence to think that it had no impact on his job to the point of refusing to give up the Nats and Deputy PM leadership after it was all exposed.

The man's an idiot.

Yeah well I think he should have stepped down straight up, but as others will say, why didn't the others do so in the past? The baby gave it more airtime than it would have got otherwise. He could have stepped down, let it all blow over and pick up the Dep role after the next election.

Anyway, lets pick this up again in May after the election and we can argue whether the voters got it right or wrong. As mentioned above, once it goes to the polls and its voted on, the issue is settled.

I had no idea until recently that the humble ibis was considered a pest in Sydney - unflatteringly called a 'bin chicken' over there.

Apparently NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has also had the moniker 'Gladys Bin Chicken' applied to her too - although I can see a vague resemblance that might justify it...?

As if the usual disgraceful behaviour on this thread wasn’t enough, mocking physical appearances is a step well beyond the pale.

Well I wanted to know why they were calling her Gladys Bin Chicken; I'd never heard of a 'bin chicken' before.

You really come across as a joyless Protestant prig who thinks that laughter is the Devil's Wind... I'm sure Glady Berejiklian will survive being compared to a bird, she's a big girl who can look after herself.

Someone who doesn't seem to care what people think is Scott Morrison... he got boo-ed at the Australian Open yesterday and laughed it off - New Daily:

Scott Morrison has returned serve to the masses who booed him at the Australian Open on Sunday, saying it’s a “great tradition.”

Watching Roger Federer go down to Stefanos Tsitsipas at Melbourne Park, the PM’s face flashed up on a giant screen as he oohed at a close line call.

The capacity crowd reacted loudly and negatively but the Prime Minister, who nursed a beer during the match, joked on Monday that people were probably protesting the line call.

“It’s a great tradition,” he told reporters in Cairns of his hostile reception.

“I would be disappointed if they didn’t. Bob Hawke and everyone else got the same treatment at games.”

At least he doesn't have a massive ego that's easily deflated.

Absolute rubbish. He comes across as a sensible human who thinks there's nothing funny about people's physical features, and I agree with him. On the other hand, you come across as an ignorant and insensitive prick.
