The container train out of Tocumwal operates 5 days a week. It did operate at night during the heat wave but now passes through Shepparton on the down in the morning and up in the evening.
It would contain containers from Strathmerton an more. Nothing from Shepparton that I have noticed lately.

Is the Toc train running again?  I thought it was not running (though based only on information provided on RP so it could be wrong).

The whistling of the Toc train used to wake me at about 5 am when the weather was hot.
Now it's noise mostly gets lost in the usual daytime sound.
Or am I missing something  ?

Help me out here but I recall a lot of containers coming down to the port in the past when Patrick were running the yard and it was healthy until PN took over and like a lot of their business in Victoria it was wound up.

I am stunned there is not a container train per day out of Strathmerton.

It has been explained many times before, that trucks between Shepparton and Port of Melbourne are cheaper due to turn around times and asset utilization.

Strathmerton loading goes via Tocumwal

PN only does hock and pull work (on take or pay contracts) not freight forwarding.

I heard something toot at about 5 am. on the northern side of Shepparton .
I assume it was the down Toc train.
