Preliminary works have begun around Reservoir station, but no one knows what the final design looks like. That intersection is a monumental clusterf..k even when trains aren't running, the design would surely involve some sort of road improvement...Why not check the LXRA website; which has the station design pictured a number of times. The LXRA are raising the rail line but not doing any major road works as that is Vicroads responsibility (or whatever the name of the organisation that has taken on road works from them)

The LXRA still lists the design as preliminary/tentative, with one CGI aerial shot.Preliminary works have begun around Reservoir station, but no one knows what the final design looks like. Starting the process of trying to buy back their voters?
There are many locations all over Melbourne that could use an expansion of parking spaces, of which Bentleigh & Hampton are just two, but It would be nice if people could leave their personal political prejudices out when discussing them.Starting the process of trying to buy back their voters?
More like the desperate death throes of a federal government completely out of touch with Melbourne.
Ironically the average punter will associate major construction with Dan Andrews anyway, and it’ll have the familiar logos of PTV all over it, so there may not be too much electoral benefit...

So the attempt at rebuttal to anyone questioning the garbage some post is 'it doesn't belong here'.
In the middle & outer suburbs most commuters who live further than walking distance from their local station drive because it is quicker, easier & more convenient. Even if feeder bus services were a lot better than they are now it isn't going to change significantly & politicians of all persuasions know that which is why they will continue to build & extend car parks. There are many locations all over Melbourne that could use an expansion of parking spaces, of which Bentleigh & Hampton are just two, but It would be nice if people could leave their personal political prejudices out when discussing them.
Not sure what’s you’re insinuating here: that was my attempt at an objective opinion on the electoral value of the federal government funding car parks. It had nothing to do with my personal politics.
If you want my political view on the subject though, here it is: spending any more taxpayer money on station car parking is completely and utterly unjustifiable, and any funds that would have been thus committed should be redirected to improved bus services. Car parks cost tens of thousands of dollars per space, far and away above what it would cost to transport the same number of people to the station on a bus network.

Interesting to see that a temporary slew will be built through the Carrum carpark while the viaduct is constructed. Very sensible use of space.
Also, Toorak Rd will be a rather elegant viaduct structure.
One of the original 50 that was lingering. Good to finally get some designs for it. A missed opportunity to not remove Tooronga Road at the same time. Few hundred meters more and you could Knock off two.Skyrailing over Tooronga Road as well would have made a new Tooronga station a necessity. Too many unnecessary $$$.
That artist impression of Toorak Road rail bridge surely has exaggerated the ramp angle ? Looks unusually sharp!https://www.railpage.com.au/news/s/sky-rail-to-replace-congested-toorak-road-level-crossing-in-melbournes-innereast
