Just doing some work here in London regarding radios in train cabs. Do you have any suburban trains that have AM/FM radios in the cab? Do they cut out when Service Control contact you?Welcome to RP.

Not really. I don't know what the answer is from other states. I'm sure I recall travelling in an M Set and it having a radio and I saw a picture online of a Transperth Train with what looked like car radio/cd player. Appreciate the feedback though.Just doing some work here in London regarding radios in train cabs. Do you have any suburban trains that have AM/FM radios in the cab? One post would have been enough though. You have an answer here, so lets not ask in the other 3 again.

Do they cut out when Service Control contact you?Waratahs have an AM/FM radio. There is a mute relay driven by a couple of other systems that will cut the radio out. Examples include eTIS (TOS) alerts, the crew bell, if a crew door is open, when the DTRS radio is active, for any DVR or PA announcement, if there is a stage 1 or stage 2 fire alarm, and (in the future) when there is any alert on the ATP DMI.
