    This will mean Shepparton will receive 5 return services per day.

    Does this also mean the end of Seymour as a destination for scheduled locomotive hauled passenger services? If so, then that  leaves Bacchus Marsh and Geelong as the only commuter lines serviced by loco hauled trains.

    Could be wrong but I’m pretty sure VLos are not being introduced in this iteration of the upgrade.

    8306 0657 Seymour-Southern Cross & 8339 2150 Southern Cross-Seymour will still be N+VN loco hauled workings i think.

    The press release mentions new Vlo stabling north of Shepparton.  Where is this slated to go can anyone point out on a map?  I can't find anything in council DA applications etc or other sources to tell me.  @547M can you see any site preparation works going on that might be the location?

    Isn't train stabling going to be In Shepparton Yard (roads 3&4) like what they have been working on and just about completed ?

    That is what we assumed when 3 road was used.  Though it was alluded to that new stabling would go in somewhere in Grahamville in one of he photo posts above too...

    G'day all.
    The April timetable will utilise Shepparton yard which was recently upgraded. The Vlocities won't be going up to Shepparton until the level crossing are upgraded. As for stabling, I don't think that location has been decided as yet, but I believe they have looked at the former Caltex siding just the other side of New Dookie Rd. as a possible site.

    All trains stop all stations.

    This is actually a backwards move from the services offered 20 years ago when all Shepparton services ran express Seymour - Broadmeadows.

    I have taken photos of where the rumoured stabling is to go (Grahamvale) but I suspect there is *another* location nearby Campbell's Soup.

    Yes why is there not enough room  with three road?

    I think the yard is still used for freight wagons staging so they may not have the space they require moving forward?

    Also makes you wonder why oil is not going to the Caltex terminal from Corio with both being rail connected?

    All sidings at Corio removed inside the fence, also the loading facilities are gone. The lead from the main line into the sidings remains...sort of; with a "V" crossing removed.

    Cant say why, James, except to speculate on requirements for stabling of DMU vis-a-vis loco hauled trains.

    The other thought that comes to mind is that Shepparton yard is not secure.
    See Echuca stabling for Vlo. Apparently its fully secured, like UFTG, etc.

    One siding is labelled "Fruit siding" but it hasn't seen any traffic since Y157 was dragged back to Seymour.  (This is my recall.)

    Oil went to road around the same time.

    This is a *possible* location; it is very grassed at this time.

    as you can see, this is 2009. Y157 was well and truly gone.

    bit of rust there.

    This is the Caltex Yard.
    I am not saying this is the stabling location ...

    First Weekdays Up will be N set on Mondays and H set on Tuersday to Friday according to new valley  WTT.

    Instead of creating a new thread for this, can someone tell me what TAL the bridges between Shepparton and Seymour can handle?  The line is Class 3 which per VicSig seems to allow 23TAL at 80kph?

No further upgrades of the track between the station and site chosen are required. Contractor is to be announced in 'the coming months' with work to start 'late this year'.

    Isn't that at the junction for the Dookie line? Will the new stabling yard prevent any future reopening of that line?

    Looking at the map this morning, it looks like the stabling yard will use part of the Dookie line South of Grahamvale Rd.  I hope they put points in so that the Dookie line has a future.
