The guy was sick enough to livestream it and according to today’s age he muttered ‘subscribe to Pewdiepie’. Ya, insane fascist and attempting to meme while committing  an act of terror. Shows how sick and Grotesque these people really are

The PM has confirmed that a censure motion will indeed be moved against Anning when the Parliament resumes in April, meanwhile, down in Melbourne, Frazer Anning was smashed over the head by an egg at a public event, footage shows the young man being held down by members of the public, the police have let him go pending further enquiries, I for one hope the cops take no further action on this, couldn't have happened to a more deserving fool!!! - https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/fraser-anning-egged-after-christchurch-comments/ar-BBUQ4kG?ocid=spartanntp

I'm forced to wonder about Anning. Is he just trying to grab headlines, or does he really believe the crap that he spouts?

I think he genuinely believes it, he has spouted far right wing stuff before. this coming from Anning is no surprise whatsoever.

An interesting piece of what the Senate could do to Anning- in short, not much, the only answer being the Ballot Box - https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/comment-could-a-senator-like-fraser-anning-be-expelled-from-parliament-for-offensive-statements/ar-BBUQwLG?ocid=spartanntp - oh by the way, is Anning's term up this time round, or does he have another term to go, I know the rules are different in the Senate?

I don't agree with old mates methods, but to a certain extent I do agree with his ideology. IMHO multiculturalism, like communism, is great in theory but it does not work in this day and age. In days gone by, immigrants integrated into Australian culture because they had to.

Now, tell me, how well do you play the didge? And, what have you done to keep the local dialect alive?

We made that mistake in the past during a time when the respect for local culture was not rated very high. So why not learn from this previous mistake and prevent a repeat.

One other regret I have is, that as far as I know, New Zealand has no equivalent to Goulburn Jail's Super Max, which is the perfect place for those who commit terrorist actions such as this one.

The cops might have no choice but to take it further if the victim decides to press charges. Looks like aggravated assault (aggravating factor: victim was a minor) on the part of Anning when he strikes the teenager with a closed fist twice, and also by his supporters when they intervened. Unless I'm very much mistaken, aggravated assault can carry a maximum sentence of at least a year and therefore any conviction would be a s44 disqualification from office for Anning.

Eggs have been accepted to be a common element of protests in Australia for many decades, i.e. closer to freedom of speech than to any offence. An informal caution should be an adequate addressing of that action.

Trouble is with Anning, being a politician he is entitled to protection, so now every time he goes out he will have a posse of police watching his back. Probably has them parked outside his home too.

EDIT - like Hanson years ago, opening his mouth will now cost the taxpayers heaps for the extra protection that he will now need.

After his Conviction, a good old Lynching, southern USA style, would be in order.

Will save the NZ Government having to provide free Board and Lodging too.

The absurdity is we have never been a mono-culture. As a people our way of life has continuously evolved, it’s not a mirror of England!!!

Assimilate to what, Australia circa 1788, 1850, 1901, 1933... 1949. From then on all these wogs, DPs, refos changed this supposedly pure Anglo Christian culture forever and we've moved on.

A minority of 2% of the population wanting to see radical change doesn’t make it happen. There’s a lot more republicans and we’re still rusted onto those Pommy royals Rolling Eyes

Yes.

What are his chances of being reelected this year?
GeoffreyHansen
Practically none, because he won't be on any party ticket.

If he stands he will certainly get more than the 19 votes he got last time when he was in third place on the PHON ticket, not least because an unendorsed candidate needs to provide the names of 100 nominators to the AEC in support of their nomination.

My guess is that the six Senate seats for Queensland will go 3 to the LNP, 2 to ALP, 1 to either the Greens or one of the Katter/Palmer/Hanson celebrity parties. This would be a +1 for the LNP as they only have two senators retiring.

justapassenger does this (I don’t know what to call him) in NZ hold dual citizenship? If he does I am almost certain that Dutton and ScoMo will strip his AU citizenship.

It’s a fair academic argument though, and largely irrelevant, should the NZ legal system issue an appropriate sentence (Martin Bryant style) I don’t think he will be afforded the opportunity to use any passport to go anywhere...

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the prison valvegear, one hour of sunlight a day and just the company of a three man rotating guard escort everyday for the rest of your life is going to be pretty nasty anywhere.

I am 99% sure he is not a dual citizen. I am sure it would have been mentioned. Sadly I find I live less than 10km from where the XYZ lived. It has been mentioned by Jacinda that he regularly came in and out of NZ. I moved here in 2010 and later that year spent 3 months in Australia/Europe/USA. My NZ citizenship (possible after 5 years residency) was therefore delayed a year. you need to have been in New Zealand for:
  • at least 240 days in each year, and
  • 1350 days across the 5 years.
I was surprised at my interview that they knew exactly how many days I had spent outside of NZ and was told it was often a hurdle for Aussies applying for citizenship as it was so easy to regularly go back home.
Actually today I am so thankful I became a citizen and can call myself a Kiwi and not be in anyway linked with this creature.
