I was at Rose Hill Saturday, and did not see the Phoenix S and E wagons. Were they actually there? I note that at Melbourne's Waverley Exhibition, they were on sale. Ah well, might have to wait till Caulfield Wink
Cheers

Rod.  The S trucks were there on the SDS stand but the E wagons were on the Casula stand.

SDS/ Pheonix was at the Adelaide exhibition and had the S trucks there, as well as pre production models of the indigenous NRs among other things. Very nice indeed they are. They had most of their models there and I got myself a JHG brakevan from them. I did not see if they had the E wagons though.

A little late as Rosehill is Shut.
I attended Sunday AM.
The E open wagons were on display.
I had a brief conversation and I did not take notes.
What one of the fellows behind the counter "said it would be a bit rich if we are selling wagons and the mail order People are still waiting".
Makes sense.
The E wagons looked top notch. On reflection I did not see the S Flats on display.

The S flatcar version could also be used as a SAR wagon as when the Webb  steam loco's were transferred from the ship to Islington some O wagons had the sides and ends left of of them to transport the bits for assembly and later in life some o wagons did get cut down to just the same thing almost. Here is the SAR plan for the FO flat car.

Well if you want to cut down a SAR O wagon to get per the original way you can but a simple repaint of the VR S class flatcar version would get you the same result almost and a bit cheaper as well.
