The Transport heritage NSW website lists two separate tours.

There is a morning side by side run to western Sydney and return featuring Set F1, an S Set and Set B24. It says that it departs from Central shortly after 9.50 am for a 2 hour 10 minute tour that returns at 11.00 am. The timing doesn't work, so at least one of those details is incorrect.

The afternoon 6-hour S Set tour departs from Central at 12.30 pm.

Once again, I have to say gloomily that such a thing would never happen in Melbourne.

Uh, it's a full afternoon event, you don't get to just pick which parts you go on.

Actually you can choose. As long as you have a ticket, you can board and leave the tour at any of the stops from the above timetable that Scott has provided us with.

This is directly from the thnsw website:

“There will be a variety of photo stops and the option to board/leave the tour along the way.”

That's a vast departure from what is generally the case with enthusiast tours.
