Qube Up Grainy ex-Charlton stalled at Warrenheip Bank overnight.  X31-T376 are about to arrive and rescue the consist.

The other BIG Qube news today is that the first BG Qube cement train is running today.  G532-B80 are at Dandenong this afternoon.  Sounds like Local Govt got sick and tired of the endless conga line of cement going via trucks through the City....

Can I do a Guitar Solo over this?
I'm guessing there's plenty of BG locos left over now that the Murray basin has been partially converted.

Finally some good news, this is briiliant and good news after a long list of not so good news lately.  To where does the cement run?

I think it's the old Kimberley Clark siding Dandenong, and then to Nth Dynon.  Perhaps Lyndhurst too?

While Qube are in the area there are a lot of containers with waste travelling between there and Deer Park or there abouts.

By the way, there is a VR CEMENT Wagon attached to a consist in North Dynon yard last weekend.

All the old clapped out smeg? Fair few G's and XR's in storage on BG anyway....

Guys. Have you not learned?  What happens every time someone here posts about surplus BG locos owned by PacNat?

So, on the Broad Gauge, QUBE are now running:
Maryvale Paper (Intermodal)
Deniliquin Rice (Intermodal)
Kilmore East (Bulk Quarry goods)
Ultima Hay (Intermodal)
Bulk Export Grain
Dandenong Cement (Intermodal)

Have I missed anything?

At the peak season (grain & rice in particular) will QUBE have to acquire more wagons/ flat tops to support all these movements? I'd also think the older BG locos will be hired out.

Well, I believe they already have a bunch of flats hired out from CFCLA and GWA, no idea where they'd get more from, unless brand new.

Occasional Rochester Ballast train and works trains for Metro.

They haven't run the Toc Container train for a long time (tends to be overflow if I'm not mistaken?), but who knows, it may make a reappearance one day....

Monday's rescued Grainy is in Geelong unloading today.  An interesting lash-up:  X31-T376 at one end, and B80-G521 at the other.  Saves a run-around or two.

That's its last job for the moment. I assume it's just running as required for now?

Todays (5/9) Dandenong cement was 2 VL's and 20 x 15 meter flats about half loaded, and through Richmond  just before 11AM.

Toc is a drought impacted market and per these boards even PN isn't running consistently.  QUBE would be for one off work but based on info from the area they're too unreliable which has impacted relationships.

Ive been having a look, and may be going slightly mad, but is QUBE now back running the Visy freight from Harefield to Melbourne instead of Botany?  I thought i saw mention of this in a thread on my phone over the last couple of days but can't find it now.

Runs every so often down here, usually on a Sunday.

There was a maintenance shutdown on the Main South; maybe they had to change destinations, at least for a while?

If qube fun to Rochester then why not take loading from the production factory right next to the line?

Plenty of containers for export there.

That's the Murray Goulburn plant that shut nearly a year ago. Zero containers for export (or anything, really).
