    Well today every time I changed from one subject to the next on the main index page I had to log in again, 3 times it happened in less than 10 minutes today so could I ask that this hiccup be at least looked at, I don't mind having to re log in again just about every thread etc but it is way past a joke now and seems to be getting worse.

    It started a while back and comes along just as you change subjects or threads. It seems random now more so than it was before and was reported a month or more back as well. Yes I know we cannot expect every little thing to be fixed but it might be something that is keeping some posters away from this site.

    No changes on this side guys please try clearing your cache as this could be the problem.   I have looked at testing this today and no issues across Chrome and IE.

    Whilst I don't have the problem, why on earth would you test on IE? My understanding is that IE is no longer supported by Microsoft, makes it unsafe to use. Anyone using IE should be encouraged to use a supported browser. It's a wonder you didn't test it on Netscape Navigator! Laughing

    Cleared the cache and it still does it!

    IE, talk about outmoded I use Chrome and Microsoft Edge on my computer that uses Windows 10. IE is a thing of the past.

    I dunno if it is just me, but I've noticed the URL coding seems a bit screwy... Traditionally it has been 
    TextDescriptionForThatURLToBeSeenInPost
    - Now even the CODE tags are broken...

    But putting that into several posts recently has resulted in the hyperlink becoming the descriptive test and the link being broken - See below:

    Yes that would be a good idea Graham4405 fix up the existing bugs etc before doing anything like developing new things to be added as some of those older bugs just might affect some of the new developments installed. What the site could really do with is a full time paid person to get rid of the backlog of bugs and niggles if possible before anything else is done. Clean up the existing website and then add what you like to build on to that.

    We will not be building anything new before all the bugs are fixed.  The developer has already made a lot of changes for reliability.  The site has not been down much at all and the performance is much better.  more to come but I cannot fund this to the speed I want personally.

    The site peaked at nearly 600 online users yesterday.

    I am not posting a lot here but I am listening.

    Would you guys be interested in a committee setup to assist in how the site is managed going forward?

    The menu on Chrome for Android does not work unless a cookie has been saved first

    I sent a PM today and the Flickr link I included in it got filtered out.
    Is that a deliberate thing or is it trying to do some clever parsing of the Flickr links like it does in Forum Posts?

    I can't use hypertext mark up boxes and I have to write everything in code - I also can't send or receive messages or 'like' posts.

    Been that way for a few weeks now in Chrome and even worse in MS Windows. Suggestions?

    Sorry I meant to say private messaging isn't working either, it just flashes 'loading' all the time - in addition to 'likes' and hypertext processing (can't get to it). I can still post as I'm doing now but just functionality is restricted.

    I use Chrome all the time, and have absolutely no issues. Are you talking in MS Windows? What version of Windows, and what version of Chrome are you using? I'm on (updated) Win10 and (updated) Chrome 80.0.3987.149 (64 bit)

    Yes, I am running Chrome on Windows 10. I noticed when I was in Ballarat last weekend that I didn't have any problems using Firefox.

    Windows Explorer doesn't want to work with Railpage at all - I'll try running an update on Chrome and see if this works.

    Windows Explorer? I assume you mean Internet Explorer. I thought IE was no longer supported - Edge is the current MS browser, and Railpage works perfectly on that.

    It's where you can hit buttons to get quotes, insert links change to bold, italic, etc.

    I'm not getting that on my basic version right now. I'm so bored with this lock-down that I might download my own version of Firefox just to see if that's any better. Windows Explorer is even worse, it won't even open with that. I'm running Windows 10 so I would have thought Uncle Bill's magical platform of ultimate stability would have fixed any bugs... but no.

    Okay - happy to report five minutes later that Firefox supports Railpage fully so I'll have to use that at least for this site. Not sure why but at least its all working again.

    Sounds to me like a content blocker in your browser has gone rogue.

    To test this you can disable all extensions, restart Chrome and try again.

    If it works, re-enable extensions one by one until you find the one that breaks Railpage. Most content blocking extensions will allow you to add exceptions for 'trusted' sites.

    Good theory but no banana. I have two extensions operating in Chrome, one is the off-line document editor and the other is Kaspersky - disabled both and then re-started but no different.

    Again today Railpage is working perfectly in Firefox but not on Chrome. I guess I'll just just Firefox when I'm looking at Railpage...

    Uncle Bill gave up on Internet Explorer (not, once more, Windows Explorer, which is used to find files on your own PC) and replaced it with Edge. Edge works perfect with Railpage. Internet Explorer is old, insecure, and (to the best of my knowledge) unsupported. IE11, the last version, was released in 2013 and has been replaced by Edge.

    I'm glad you have a working system. By downloading Firefox you have the latest version.
