Welcome to Trump town

I think we all more or less have a agreement here, and that is Donald Trump is the weirdest cat on the planet.

I hate to say it but Trump is not the most definitely not the weirdest on the planet. He is a lying, hypocrite with zero strategic policy except appointing ill equipped Conservative Federal Court Judges, but he is not the weirdest.

Gurbanguly Bermdimuhamadedov from Turkmenistan. A vile autocratic strongman who is weird in the extreme.

Valvegear; why do you always go down this path of meaningless semantics and concocted offense?
Partly to point out your " one rule for don" system, and partly to correct your manifold inaccuracies, dear boy. I don't mind you criticising provided you stick to facts. When you make things up (e.g. "feelings of revulsion"), and then criticise, it deserves a response.
And yet again; "please don't ascribe to me emotions I don't have." I have no feelings of offence (correct spelling), concocted or otherwise.
P.S. There's no fishing at the moment, and you take the bait like a starving cod.

Nobody said it isn't. My point which, as usual, you fail to answer, is that an opinion is considered; an emotion is not.

OK Don; you asked for it. The gloves are off.

First. You are a compulsive liar.  You wrote, "Well you say repeatedly how he brings out feelings of revulsion," You know perfectly well that this statement is a blatant untruth. It isn't the first instance either.

Second. You are a hypocrite. You are happy to accuse me, and others of "being het up", "having concocted feelings of offense (sic)",  and so on. As soon as anyone replies in similar vein to you, you scream like a stuck pig. Your own words are, " "please don't ascribe to me emotions I don't have." As I said, one rule for Don; another rule for everyone else.

Third. Your knowledge of language leaves a lot to be desired. "Semantics", you cry.  Oxford:-"Semantic. Relating to meaning in language; relating to connotations of words".  Correct use of the language is something you obviously do not cope with.

Imagine if you were as clever as you think you are, and could debate honestly instead of criticising people for things which they have never written.

I have to say I admire the opinions of mejhammers; he has summed you up perfectly in previous posts.

Hmmm, because you and others hear repeatedly say how much he brings out feeling of revulsion but then don't recognise it for what it is? You get 'feelings' and 'opinions' constantly mixed up - you know that don't you.

Example: "Trump is the worst President I've ever seen in my life". That's a FEELING, Valvegear. See, you've learned something today.
Second. You are a hypocrite. You are happy to accuse me, and others of "being het up", "having concocted feelings of offense (sic)", and so on. Valvegear
That's because you DO get emotional about Trump but you don't recognise it for what it is, you think that it's a rational decision and it isn't - it's based on emotion. And you (and others) DO keep telling me what I feel - but you're wrong. Simple enough for you?
Third. Your knowledge of language leaves a lot to be desired. "Semantics", you cry. Oxford:-"Semantic. Relating to meaning in language; relating to connotations of words". You don't even know what it is that you're supposedly upset with. All you know is that you don't like me because I'm a contrarian - but you lack the appropriate understanding of the English language to be able to express what is is that you don't like about me beyond "I don't like you".

How on earth you've got through life being so terminally confused about feelings verses rationality is really perplexing...

Sorry Don,

No prizes for second place or amateur psychology. Still breaking your own rules, I see.

Now, write what you like, but the evidence for my last post is there for all to see. I have no further comment to add to any of your irrational diatribes.

I think many of you are missing the point as to why Trump will go on to win in November, and why he is in office. The American people voted for him. For all his faults, he is unlike his predecessors who contributed to the way the world is today, and how globalisation and globalists have sold the USA up the river. To a large extent, this corono has been a wake up call for us as well. The media really is petty and analyses every word and alleged misstep. The media backers don't like what he's done and they want him humiliated because there is too much at stake for them. He has rattled them. He knows their game. He is true to his constituents, and they are not the deplorables.

Drain that swamp.

Drain that swamp.Yeah and Donald Trump has really made an improvement to the US and the World. The man is excellent of getting his message across. But when it comes to detail and policy, the man is a complete imbecile. Can you give me some actual achievements that this man has done, instead of just parroting empty slogans like globalisation and globalists? The actual hypocrisy of every thing Trump is whilst he is railing against Globalisation, he wants to build hotels in every country and his daughter Ivanka had most of her clothing products imported from China.

Yes I get that the American people wanted a disrupter, they have been largely ignored and US politics is still; geared very much towards the rich, but Donald Trump draining the swamp, yeah right. His cabinet is not exactly full of leading lights is it;

Roger Stone - A corrupt and vile individual who is serving time.
Scott Pruitt  - A Climate Change Denier
Mike Pence - Ultra Conservative, hates the LGBT community and advocates for Conversion Therapy.
Betsy DeVos - Dumb as Dog $hite
Mike Pompeo - Betsy DeVos in Male form
Stephen Miller - An overt racist, who Richard Spencer, you know, that white supremacist, who counts Miller as his mentor.

He also had other alt-right deplorables such as Sebastian Gorka and Steve Bannon and I could go on.

The media really is petty and analyses every word and alleged misstep.

Oh Really.  Do please explain.

He is true to his constituents

Yeah a pity some of his constituents are David Duke (The ex Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan). right wing conservative evangelists and mad as a snake, right wing commentators such as Alex Jones, and Rush Limbagh.

Yeah top bloke that D J Trump.

And here with go again with the stupid bloody Democrats, do they really think sleepy Joe Biden is the best candidate to take on Trump? Couldn't they find anyone - ANYONE - better than him? My theory is that Trump has something on him and his son's corrupt international dealings and will reveal it a few weeks before the election anyway.
What do you care if it's Biden or not given you reckon you don't support that billionaire Trump?
Why are the Democrats "stupid" (granted the Republicans didn't get so much richer by being dumb).
Why do you want Trump to have dirt on Biden?
I don't care, but Biden's corrupt dealings in the Ukraine and China with his son make his nomination an extremely poor choice (yet again) by the Demmy-crats. But poor choices is what you'd expect of those people, they're more beholden to billionaires than even the Republicans.

The Demmy-crats are stupid because they picked a Vice President who is the personal embodiment of the failures that lost them the Presidency to begin with. They should have gone for an outsider - ANYONE but the former Vice President.

I don't 'want' Trump to have dirt on Biden, I'm just speculating that maybe he does.
don_dunstan
Don, you'd take that position regardless of who was at the head of the Democrats (Demmy-crats Rolling Eyes) or the ALP for that matter. It's BS.

Rather than always banging on about the side of politics you hate, how about arguing for the side you obviously support.

Few points.
Not all Americans voted for him. Not all Republicans are supporters but they'll follow Donald Duck if he gets them across the line.
Even post COVID, globalisation was not going to change much because US Corporations (Wall Street) benefits enormously and they tend to be run by Republicans.
Trump will say one thing one day then back-track the next but that doesn't matter because he got it out there. Trump praised China how many times since COVID-19 started Laughing

Trump is not praising China any more. He is raising the rhetoric on the CCP and is effectively blaming them for concealing the Chinese virus.

72,000 dead this morning. 2,000+ new fatalities in the last 24 hours. This virus is making 9/11 look like a teddy bear picnic.

My question for Donald when all this is over: "You have just overseen more fatalities than the Korean & Vietnam war's combined. More than 30x the 9/11 attacks. What will you change, Mr President?"

For what Bush's "War on terrorism" has cost - after 'only' 3,000 fatalities, will you introduce universal healthcare? Reduce defence spending? Stop the trend of globalisation? Or are you going to simply say "It was all China's fault, nothing to do with me, so nothing to change!"

Sadly, I don't think things would have been terribly different had Hillary been president. The border's might have been closed sooner, but you have enough people in America that any attempt to curtail "their freedom" results in the kind of protests we've already seen. Once the bug got a toehold over there, they were going to cop it no matter what action they took.

With a bit of luck, this might be the wake up call America & its' people need.

If it goes through all those gun toting nuts protesting "Muh Freedoms" then it's probably a good thing...

And to think, these are the types who would have screamed "support our police" when it wasn't them in the polices' sights. Funny when the shoe's on the other foot.

Because the reporter *dared* to ask a question.

He shut it down because he doesnt have an answer to a simple question, or doesnt paint him in the most favourable, gold plated ideals.

Meanwhile his supporters are calling for the whitehouse to not allow press in at all and just follow the word of the dear leader blindly..... Like in Russia and China

Indeed it is. I liked the way he was boasting yesterday on radio about the great way he's managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
If 81,000 dead is "managing" it, I must be missing something.
But, I guess it beats reading fiction; all I have to do is listen to the White House egomaniac.

By the way, the so-called "biased" press might, instead of being biased, just be collectively pissed of because Trump cannot/ will not give  straight answers to simple questions.
