Lidbury and Larcombe were two of the mayors of the local municipality. The combination gave us the names of the suburb and junction that exists today. If memory serves me correctly both were stonemasons with businesses that were adjacent to Rookwood Cemetery.
This knowledge was gleaned as a primary student at Lidcombe Public School over 70 years ago. I know a feeble excuse but I throw the cryptic open as at my age and judging by the talent on show I would rather leave it to the cryptic experts.
