After twelve years of storage in Townsville, Ex-Emu Bay 1104 is reportedly on a low-loader and heading south from Townsville on the Bruce Highway this afternoon. The locomotive had been donated by previous owner, Curtain Brothers, to the North Queensland Committee of the ARHS Queensland Division in 2016..

Who for and going where?

Downer Maryborough for a rebuild and use as a second shunt loco at that location is the rumour I've heard. Not sure how true that rumour is.

So have ARHS Qld sold it? I know they have offloaded some locomotives to other heritage groups, but didn't know about this one.

1104 has broken cover at Downer Maryborough in fresh Emu Bay paint - it's looking pretty close to joining Downer's DH73 as a shunt loco for the plant and doing rollingstock transfers to and from Maryborough West.
