Openrails changing over from XNA to Monogame toolkit

Openrails is changing over from the XNA toolkit to Monogame, as a consquence of this the 1.3.x version of OR will be the last that will run on WindowsXP, as Monogame does NOT support XP.

This change should be interesting as in theory  Monogame is a crossplatform toolkit.

Considering Microsoft stopped improving XNA years ago, it's a long overdue move.
There should be some big benefits to come from a fully supported toolkit going forward.

Pretty much all the major apps except Firefox have dropped XP support now so noone should be surprised there.

I know this thread is old, but I have a suggestion!

Why doesn't Open Rails move over to Unreal Engine 4 or higher? I have been messing around with Unreal Engine 4 for the past few months during quarantine and I must say that it is such an amazing tool quite easy to use but the project I am working on feels like it will take 100 year's to complete LaughingLaughing so I scrapped the idea, it was a shooter game that I was hoping to distribute to the Xbox One, it certainly isn't easy to do everything yourself! HAHA!!! LaughingLaughing

Unreal Engine offers Publishing License and Creators License "I use the Creators License" version and I am allowed to distribute my projects either as a video game or application for use on Windows, Mac and mobile devices as freeware only! Which is great because I didn't pay a cent at the checkout

If Open Rails does consider dropping off the XNA please switch to Unreal Engine 4 or higher and don't use Monogame toolkit it's rubbish! Unreal Engine is a powerful tool and easy as going to the shop and getting Fish & Chips! https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/

Please note: Keep in mind, that Unreal Engine 4 or higher is a huge download* Data charges will apply if you have a data limit with your Internet service provider!
