Where am I Victoria? - Non Cryptic - #3

  Faredodger Chief Train Controller

Location: Hiding anywhere the ticket inspectors can't see me
I am a closed station on a still open line.

All relevant station infrastructure was removed many years ago, but my site is easily identifiable by even the most casual observer.

Werribee Racecourse ?

Two good guesses, but neither Werribee Racecourse nor Mangalore.

Further clue:  I was a junction for most of my existence.

Carlsruhe?

Good answers, but neither Carlsruhe nor Branxholme.

I closed much earlier than any of the stations mentioned so far.  My site is on a line that still has a passenger service.

Not Toolamba.

Could it be Irrewarra?

It is indeed Irrewarra, the junction of the cross-country line to Newtown, and closed in the late '50s.

The original infrastructure is gone, but in recent years a replica nameboard in the old style has been put on the site of the goods yard rather than the platform.  That is why the site is easily identifiable by even the most casual observer - but only from one side of the train.

Over to you, raudteejaam.

Dunkeld?
Edit: scrub that - it fails the "junction for most of my life" clue.

Yes, and you're too late anyway.
  raudteejaam Train Controller

Ok, next teaser.

I am a closed station on a closed line. Some limited bits of infrastructure remain. A rail trail now passes through me, and I'm a popular stop along the way for a break.

Momentarily, I forgot which station I had selected! Not a good sign for my mental acuity, lol.

But it has come back to me, and Myrtleford it aint.

Not Nowa Nowa either.

Foster?

Sorry, not Foster. I'll see what the next couple of guesses bring before a clue.

Yea?  (Sorry, if this comes up twice, I blame the website.)

"Limited" is a relative term, and there are plenty of excuses (pubs, cafes and the like, at least not during lock-downs) to have a break.

Everton?

Just in case the Warburton line is considered to be Victoria, as opposed to Melbourne, I will put forward Yarra Junction.
