Some nice shots was not aware of this.  Interesting to see it painted in white rather than the yellow and black possibly due to time needed and demands for power?

SSR have a collection of older locos many of which can be upgraded and repowered with modern cummins primemovers that are capable of meeting the new emission standards

Why paint it white?

Yellow now and add black later would be a good option maybe?

Surely a white loco will need washing daily?

From what I've read elsewhere, this is open to correction, the white is only temporary and it's not being painted as yet because the cold, winter weather isn't ideal for painting in.
Not sure what the colour scheme will eventually be.

The outrage on Facebook has been even greater.

Several LDPs are painted white and no-one says Boo!

It will eventually come out in the same colours as S317 and GM27.

Half those dribblers wont fornacate over an LDP and have their blue and gold/tuscan/burgandy and silver tinted glasses on all the ttime

None of them are named after a ghost Wink

Also, SCT has a fleet of mainly white locos.  Outrageous!

CLF1 is out at Coota this morning in the next casper paint job.

It was being turned on the triangle

I'd say good on SSR for managing a fantastic result thus far on both of these locos.

Let the naysayers whinge all they like, I personally think it looks rather striking.

Do either CLF1 or CLP12 have ICE radio fitted?

It would be a shame if either of them don't get to lead a train in the short time they will wear that bright white livery, it would make for some great photos and videos.

Even better if the 2 of them lead a train just together. That would make for a great sight.

I do get that is probably unlikely though.

Where is the so-called outrage?

I don't care what colour SSR uses, but, for academic reasons, I did previously ask why SSR doesn't standardize on one livery.
  Booly Junior Train Controller

The next CLF/CLP was in the shed from what I could see (GM22 was in the way) with the other CLF/CLP in the yard with 2204 , so may be not too long before there are 3 CLF/CLP's in service for SSR .

CLP 12 would. To operate on ARTC track, all units require ICE radios I believe. I haven't read all the comments but if CLF1 is out and about then it would too.

Great to see SSR’s ‘new’ bulldogs out. Given I heard some more stupid noise restrictions may be brought in, I hope they’re not going to fit (unnecessary) exhaust mufflers to these locos, very disappointing if they do.

ICE radios are only required for the unit to lead. If not, they don't need one.

Thanks for the clarification, I was sure what locos required ICEs. I imagine in time SSR may fit one if it hasn't got one as they continue to expand, allowing it flexibility to for loco rosters + loco combinations/shuffling ect, especially for a 3000 HP loco.

Cheers.

SCT has a fleet of mainly red, white and black loco's to be sure and the white LDP's still have yellow on the bottom part and the white paint is patchy and you can still sort of see the old livery through the thin paint.

The white on these repainted CLP/CLF loco's make them model train worthy. SSR could make a fortune purely from that.

CLP9 came down from The Rock NSW on a grainy overnight as 6CM7.

Train destined for Appleton Dock. CLP-9 is now at Seymour for painting having been delivered there between CLF1 and G514.

There were 5 locos on 6CM7 with plenty of power why could they not drop the CLP 9 off at Seymour on the way through?

Probably something boring like the train losing its path into Melbourne or the crew running out of hours if they stopped a revenue train to faff around like that.

CLP9 has at least a couple of months work to be done on it before it sees any paint.
