    I don't know how you can stomach his sneer and attitude.

    It reminds me of being in high school and sitting in a school assembly with a passive aggressive Principal. Except he's now the Premier.

    Breaking: Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet boss Chris Eccles, the right-hand man of Daniel Andrews, has resigned.
    Funny that, one day after the Premier announced that the Board of Enquiry into the Hotel Quarantine fiasco had requested phone records from him and his department.......

    If you dig back further his contract ended and he never intended to stay on, and this was announced shortly after he arrived at the position.

    Why is the choice to use security guards the issue?

    Every hospital, airport and pubs in Australia should sack private security that they all use, immediately

    The real issue is the training of guards and oversight of infection control in the hotels, or lack of it.


    It's just the big scalp the MSM want it's just pathetic

    No training In how to run a quarantine operation, many reports of very sloppy practices, hiring new workers off the Street, paying workers cash (no formal employment) a dog breakfast of jobs for mates, ticking Ideology boxes (to employ out of work people) and screwing over the taxpayer.

    Nice one, that is a cracking read. Not sure it goes very far towards painting anyone in any better light but a very interesting insight into the machinations of government.

    For mine it doesn't change the fact that this is an inglorious end to a long Public Service career. and someone who is/was one of the most respected mandarins in Australia will be remembered not for his achievements but for an I don't recall moment.

    Wasn't Andrews saying only last week that Eccles was going nowhere?

    The only people in a good light are Gutwien, McGowin, Gunner possibly maybe Marshall and Sroto (I just don't get why Scroto is popular preacher man waffle chops, he's worse than Turnbul)

    Public service has been gutted for years

    Highly unlikely that the manslaughter laws will have legs in a pandemic,
    I would be very surprised if they did,

    Yeah, agreed. I cannot stomach Ms Credlin at all. For all Mr Andrews flaws and he has many, he is better than Michael O'Brien and his merry band of Evangelical right wing posers.

    Agreed, I haven't voted ALP for years but have never voted Liberal. I don't think I ever will but certainly right now in Victoria I wouldn't even consider it with the rabble that they have and the direction their politics has headed over the last decade or so.

    It's not an alternative for most people even if they are disillusioned with the current mob

    Exactly. Victoria should take a leaf out of NSW and adopt a more moderate stance. If the likes of Newbery and Pesutto gain ascendancy in the Liberal Party, then they are a chance.
