Welcome to Trump town

Ah yes, the old 'inherited a good economy' line. The same used to explain why the economy always gets better once a conservative government is in place in Australia. You'd think Labor and the Democrats would have learnt by now to make sure the fruits of their hard work are still seen whilst they are in government rather than magically appearing much much later when the nasty conservatives can claim credit.

Billy, Republicans ruin the economy and Democrats rescue the economy and you can look that up. Obama rescued the economy which Bush left in the toilet and saved the Car Industry. He did not do enough for the working class in many ways agreed. But please explain how giving the wealthy massive tax cuts and indeed himself a $70 Million tax cut is helping the working class. Obama was stymied by a Republican senate, but he should have done some executive orders.

Some terrible, terrible anti Anglo-Saxon racism going on here.

If you just trot out meaningless statements like above I will just jump all over your a$$. The US is divided on racial lines and many whites not all turn a blind eye to in justices and tune in to the white fear echoed by Trump. That is just fact. A sizable proportion of white people in the US have to own it. So if you think that I am a racist for pointing it out, knock your self out, I can live with that false accusation.

So again, please provide some evidence.

There's ever increasing reports of Trump supporters trying to storm places where the vote is still being counted, more often than not armed with guns.
Unsurprising, as Trump called on them to 'Resist the rigged election' and they do so. Whoever Wins there will be trouble, a bunch of pro-Biden Unions threatening to call a general strike if trump is reelected, and there probably will be clashes/riots in the streets over it from some of his supporters. If Biden Wins the Proud boys and Co Riot. Either all, Between a rock and a Hard Place.
Dangersdan707
Yep and Trump is not helping things with his dangerous and divisive rhetoric.

The secretary of State of Georgia, no doubt sick of the mounting evidence of a shaftily created fraud situation, has ordered a recount of the votes, maybe the first of many. Trump Town, the announcements of its death may be a little premature!

It could be from the mounting evidence of shaftily created fraud or could it that the margin will be small enough to trigger a recount, the first option requires ignoring reality or a severe head injury, the second option being most likely. The bad acid trip that is Trump Town in elected office is over, nothing premature about it unless of course we're ignoring the reality of the numbers coming in.

Michael, there are plenty of black majority nations on this planet whose economies are owned and run by black people. The problem is that you wouldn't drag yourself or your family there to live in those racist-free societies because they're simply too corrupt and lawless for you.

It's the same as Muslim people living in the UK or Australia who deride white people as racist but then won't go and live in places where they have Sharia or Islam as the majority religion because they're simply too violent, lawless or corrupt.

But then I guess somehow that's also the fault of white people too. Right?

Are you really that blind to your own prejudice against white people? Serious question.

I think Trump should probably give it up now. It wasn't the massive landslide to Biden that was predicted but it's going to be extremely difficult for him to win from this point out - unless he wants to drag it out over the next few weeks like Al Gore did in 2000 which I think would be undesirable.

Biden/Harris is going to be a disaster for the United States, there's no doubt in my mind - but we might as well get on with it.

Biden/Harris will at least be constrained by the Senate.  Even Pelosi has recognised that the religion of Wokeism is not popular with most people.

Nice to see you're buying into the Trump Teams propoganda. There's no actual evidence of this, they're just claiming it in hopes of winnning the state.

The Republicans whinge about "fradulent votes", but every time they look into it they shut the smeg up quickly as it turns out Republican supporters are waaaaaaaaaay more likely to do it.

They're having to actually fact check people now because Facbook created a precadent where people dont actually look into anything and belive random smeg people spew, along with right wing media paying money to have fake/misleading stuff put back onto its platform after it gets flagged as false.

More than likely the same in many states in the US - both Democat and Republican.

Florida probably has double those numbers

Right - I'm not a conspiracy theory wingnut/redneck, contrary to popular opinion.  I'm just pointing out that the American electoral system is inconsistent and shambolic at times, with officials trying their hardest to maintain some level of integrity.  In the end I think the courts will deal with it.  Patience grasshoppers!

Anyway, a good thread here that debunks many of the whacky theories out there:

So freedom of speech is what the elites are desperate to destroy? How very authoritarian.

We keep getting called 'deplorable' or 'dumb hicks' or 'rednecks' or whatever because we highlight shortcomings in governance, process, or various media assumptions and narratives.

Anyway, in a 'post truth' society where facts are no longer deemed 'true', tyrants will prosper in their suppression.

Hence Trumps support base comes from areas in the lowest education in the US.

Unsuprisingly this roughly correlates with the regular staunch GOP vote.

Educated in what?  B.S Intersectionality and deconstructionism?

The nasty cheap-shots at the working class and those who didn't go to University is one of the biggest reasons for Trump getting voted in.

And now Bolshies like AOC want to silence them through threats and blacklisting.  Pathetic and dangerous.

Just a side-note: Florida voted by a large margin to increase the minimum wage to US$15 per hour. And guess who got the higher Presidential vote in that State?

I'm really annoyed that most people don't seem to get this point - some 67 million people voted for Trump on purpose. They did that because they're feeling alienated and forgotten about; fair point that Trump didn't necessarily give them what they wanted but then it's really, really unhelpful calling the people who voted for Trump names, telling them they're stupid and/or deriding them as somehow unworthy of the patronage of their government. Biden has called Trump voters dimwits, chumps, fools and dumbells - among other things. After years of Trump being accused of being divisive this is not a good way to start his Presidency; by telling the people who supported his nemesis that they are still regarded as 'deplorable'.

The second point is that we were promised by the polls and by the Democrats themselves that there would be an overwhelmingly decisive vote for Biden/Harris and that this election would leave their government completely legitimate and without question the representative of the elected people - ALL United States citizens. But this vote is far from decisive, it's still on a knife edge.
