This line is a favourite of mine and I cannot wait to see trains back on the line.  The deal seems to show Union Pacific will retain ownership of the line whereas the original deal sought was the line being sold to the new company.

I wonder what will happen how with the royal gorge route trains which use a part of the east section of the line.

There are also plans to use the line for oil shipments from Utah.

It sure is.  The section used by royal gorge scenic railway is a single track so I imagine they will need to continue to an intermediate station when trains return.  The railroad now runs up to Bumback Gulch where there is a siding and there are customers still west of their having rail cars delivered. Parkdale Quarry area.

Then you can see a long rake of quarry cars taking up the main west of the sidings for the quarry.



So the track from there to Dostero will need some work.
