C'mon you guys, you are a few weeks from the state election and no thread yet.
Is life such a malaise over there that nobody cares who wins OR is the prospect of a Marshall win too much to bear
You DO realise he's no friend of public transport, but then again, neither apparently are many of the posters in your forum
Interesting article here from a pollster of the past, Malcolm Mackerras, predicting a Marshall win.
Well not an unreasonable statement and request Mike Old Cock !
It was towards the end of 2012 that I wafted over the boarder and we subsequently built a house and settled into quite a nice community.
The state did seem to be running along reasonably well on our arrival, Jay, popular fellow, seemed to speak well would see him from time to time at the local shops.
Since arriving the new Adelaide Hospital was constructed, the line to Seaford extended & electrified, the high-rise section of the North / South corridor was constructed and the next section was continued to near Thebarton which mend Torrens Rd & Port Rd which are our main roads into the city or to Vic would be interrupted for major reconfiguration but actually caused very little problem for us and others. A very worth while project and it is not far off with the next stage in the Southerly direction.
In opposition I thought Marshall was a whining dick but in his acceptance speech he spoke very well and I reckon his gov't has continued with quite good work since coming into power.
They refurbished or reopened a number of hospitals that Jay was closing or scaling down, seems the Gawler job is trudging along, the Northern connector, continuation in a Northerly direction of the North South Expressway has opened although unsure who instigated this, another terrific bypass instead of 50 traffic lights on Port Wakefield Rd, daughter lives in North Haven and works at Gawler and the Northern Connector cut 15-20mins off her travel time.
I have sampled a reasonable amount of the health system and I've certainly been looked after well there, none less than 5 years ago having a shoulder reco and 5 months in the cell and sent home with a vast amount of mechanical devices to conserve work done as well as the other shoulder, so the health sector from my perspective 10/10 despite what you see on the news.
Might just slip in the opening up of a number of the reservoirs for recreational activities has been a big hit as well, walking cycling tracks, picnic tables, thunder boxes etc, perhaps not headline news but small points do add up.
So I don't think either party has been bad but both have done a pretty good job from my simple observation ! Adelaide has a very nice climate, easy going joint to drive around and makes for very nice place to live, don't think you can ask for much more than that, hell you can even earbash people on RP from here.
