    I was on the 1.18pm from Central to Mt Vic today. We had to trip every signal between Mt Druitt and St Marys then sat in the platform at St Marys for a while, 25 mins late into Penrith. Guard (and website) said power failure. Could see a large storm approaching from South-west and Bureau shows heavy rainfall at Penrith after 3pm. Now website says further delays due to bad weather at Emu Plains.

    Northern, Newcastle & Central Coast Line - Delays of up to 40 minutes
    CityRail advises that some trains are being delayed on the Northern, Newcastle & Central Coast Line in both directions due to a freight train with mechanical problems at Hawkesbury River. Some City bound services delayed up to 40 minutes and some services from the City are being delayed between 10-20 minutes.

    Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

    Western Line - Delays of 10-20 minutes
    CityRail advises that some trains are being delayed on the Western Line following a passenger disturbance at Doonside earlier today.

    CityRail staff are working hard to bring services back to normal timetable as quickly as possible. Delays of 10-20 minutes can still be expected.

    It's not announced on the Cityrail website but Blue Mountains trains are delayed by about 10 mins due to vandalism of the signalling system between Emu Plains and Lapstone

    Was at Town Hall earlier today, and the message on the screens said something along the lines of "All lines through Town Hall delayed due to an earlier incident at Town Hall". Seems a fire alarm was going off, there were plenty of firefighters walking around, but no actual fire.

    South Coast Line - Major delays
    CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the South Coast Line in both directions due to heavy rainfall activating safety monitors and slip detectors at Thirroul. Major delays can be expected. Buses are being organised to operate between Waterfall & Wollongong in both directions.

    Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

    South Coast Line - Major delays
    CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the South Coast Line in both directions due to heavy rainfall activating safety monitors and slip detectors at Thirroul. Major delays can be expected. Buses conveying customers between Waterfall & Wollongong in both directions. No forecast for restoration of train services is currently available.

    I imagine when the Main South reopens tomorrow morning, there'll be no shortage of traffic for it! Also, have the Endeavours gone back down to the Southern Highlands yet, or are they stuck here until one of the lines reopens?

    Location: BUSY GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES
    I just happened to be stuck at Otford during that saga...Lightning Hit a point no more than 50m from the station and after an hour and as I boarded the RubberRail Service to Waterfall I spotted a Hi-Rail heading towards Waterfall.

    On arrival at Waterfall I seen a OSCAR and a G Set head down the coast after the line was declared safe.

    And people wanting to head to the Gong and station staff had no clue what was happening Confused

    These massive storms are creating chaos on the South Coast. Looking at the radar, the cell travelled north over much of the line.

    yes major delays. Still on the 5.42 stuck at Scarborough now with a red. We crossed to the up at Otford and crawled through to Coalcliff. Now dead stop. 8 car vset marooned.

    Frustratingly I think I saw the 8 car H set 5.19 MP to PK returning through Otford!

    Delays around the Liverpool area according to CityRail and it seems to be flowing on towards the Campbelltown area. A train is sitting very close behind another at Ingleburn station at what was about 10 minutes ago, not sure about now.

    Never seen 2 trains so close on the one track around this area (seen at the city alot), one sitting at the station and the other sitting just beyond the points to the south of the station, no more than 100m apart.

    Apologies for the off topic, but a similar thing happened today at Hornsby. Terminating suburban was running a wee bit late and was blocking platform four and the interurban to Newcastle was sitting right behind it. No sooner had the former cleared the platform, it was barging in. We made it to Gosford on time, so all's well that ends well Very Happy.

    Certainly a lot of delays/damage on the system from these storms.
    I went to work on the Olympic line last night and was told "Its all yours" as Houston had lost contact with the "Limp Dik Loop" since 1900hrs and nothing was going to come in and disturb us.
    The delays continue today with not only the aftermath but a person making contact with a train @ Bankstown.

    Bankstown, Inner West, South and Airport & East Hills Line - Delays of 10-20 minutes
    CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the Bankstown, Inner West, South and Airport & East Hills Lines due to essential signal equipment repairs at Glenfield and Liverpool today.
    Flow on delays of up to 20 minutes may be experienced.

    North Shore Line - Delays of 5-10 minutes
    CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the North Shore Line from the City due to an ill passenger at Parramatta earlier.
    Delays of 5-10 minutes can be expected.

    South Coast Line - Delays of 30 minutes
    CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the South Coast Line in both directions due to essential track equipment repairs at Scarborough caused by extreme weather conditions. Delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected.

    30 min delays this morning on the Port Kembla - Bondi Junction commuter.
    Stuck outside Scarborough for most of the time due to signal failures?
    Whats the story? Bad circuits or what as they always seem to die when it rains.

    Weird thing was being crossed over to the up line to go through the station, only a couple of hundred yards before the single line into the tunnel?

    I have no idea about the 7:38 Syd Term it could have been running late, i caught the 6:22 Port to Bondi cause i was running late due to the rain and had to go to Port to get train to work.
