I heard on the grapevine that the crossing at Murray Street in Gawler will be removed as part of the electrification project.

Is this only affecting the ones that have been fitted with the new engines.

Has GWA landed it's lease of the Barossa Line back to the Government?

The Limestone Coast Railway was good, what killed it for them was the lack of volunteers and the local council weren't real supportive of it either.

The only line that GWA has handed back to the Government is the Mount Gambier line, that was included in sale in 1997 but was handed back to state soon after.

Just heard on the grapevine, that Leigh Creek line will be ripped up next year. Apparently the land holders in area have been consulted about the line been removed.

Most track still exist between Burra and Gawler abit over the level crossing at Hanson has been removed, track near Stockport has been washed away and sleepers burnt out just North of Roseworthy.

Well thats all folks for the Leigh Creek Railway Line, as of the 31st of July 2017 Flinders Power has handed the line back to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

Well the hand over date of the railway back to government has been announced. The railway will be returned to state government in July 2017 in an operating condition.

Owned by The State Government, leased to Alinta for 99 years. Same as the coal mine at Leigh Creek.

I've heard that some of the guys that were doing maintenance on line have now been laid off, so by the looks of the things the AK cars that ran up the line on Friday may have been the last movement on ...

Looks like the AK cars will be heading out to Leigh Creek on Friday the 1st of July.
