I am glad the post actually worked.  It is neither Cungena or Yaninee.

I agree it appears it is on the EP narrow gauge system. It is however not Cungena.

The rust on the rails leads me to believe it is apart of the truncated network which narrows it down to somewhere past Wudinna to Thevenard, past Kimba to Buckleboo or on the junction past Yeelanna to Kapinnie

I am going to have a guess at Buckleboo

Well that didn't take long!  Yes its Buckleboo. My friend and I went up there last week as we had heard some nasty rumours that the line was removed.  I am happy to say it is still all intact from Kimba to Buckleboo.

I don't reckon it's Robertstown because there is a Permisive Semphore Signal in the picture, Roberstown was Permissive Block Working wasn't it?

It has to be in the mid north somewhere because I reckon I can remember an odd 800 class going out that way. Is it Saddleworth?

OK, (I hope you don't mind greasyrhys) to fire this thread up, here is a really 'interesting' one -

This station has been visited by only four class's of steam locos, two class's of diesels, and nine class's of Railcars (I'm 99% sure I'm right - there 'may' have been a third type of diesel, though I can't find it - though if I'm proven to be wrong with any of this I'm sure we will all welcome this historic and no doubt unexpected answer!!!)

- Name the station and all the respective classes 8)

Sounds very much like Noarlunga Centre, steam F, RX, 520, 620, railcar 300/400/2300, 250/100, 2000/2100, 3000/3100, diesel 830/930 (700/800 possible), I can personally vouch for 830's I worked on 830/845 to NC early in 1984 on a ballast train.

Well, that went quick! LOL - Just to change the rules on the run Razz  Winner now has to correctly guess the steam locos (as far as I'm aware one of the four you listed is incorrect, and your definately missing one)...

greasyrhys - Only one out of those four locos is correct as far as I'm aware. Maybe two.

Correctamundo! F251 was the other menioned that was correct.

The last two can't be that hard to guess now! (one of them doubleheaded with the K) 8)

For those always asking about standardisation of the Adelaide network I'll throw in 3801 and Flying Scotsman Rolling Eyes

LOL - Actually alcoworldseries got the othe classes and David Peters[/d] technically got the last class.

520 ran there in around 1982 (returned to Mile End to turn, then return Tender First to haul the train back), Rx224 and K190 ran a double headed trip there and F251 did a few runs there. I don't have any record of Rx207 or 621 going there. 830/930's have visited (830's - at least 830, 845 on Ballast and the opening train - Adelaide, Club, PCO and 955 (944 was the SG loco)  on the Jubilee Trade Train) and there was one occasion a Pt Stanvac train was routed through Noarlunga centre for some reason in the 1980's, not sure but I have a feeling there may have been a 700 or BL on it.

I thought it was an interesting, topical question with the imminent electrification and Seaford extension.

Having lived in Morphett Vale all my life I cannot recall 621 ever going to NC (not to say it didn't) The line opened in 1979 and 621 was out of action for the best part of the early 80's, returning in '86 I think (from memory). Other than the 520 trip, which must have been in November (?) 1980 (not 1982 as I previously mentioned, as it preceeded the visit of the N. I have the flyer somewhere for the trip) and K/Rx trip in the June '81, I don't believe steam returned to NC until 1995 with the specials run with the F that year.

I can't recall any other steam trips there other than one that may have run for the 'Collonades' opening (I know there were at least a couple of STA specials run for that) that occured around the same time as NC opened.

I have a funny feeling Tender First working was restricted around that time for some reason (?) so that precluded NC visits. (That affected the 'Last Train to Burra' trip with 621, having to use 958 leading on return. Obviously that issue was resolved by the time the 520/621/Rx parallel runs to Belair and the NRM in the mid 90's)

Not sure though I think there was at least one ARHS trip to Pt Stanvac run before the line was extended to Christie Downs/NC, I'm thinking that was diesel hauled though it may have been steam???

Any extra info would be appreciated if anyone has any re steam/ARHS visits to NC/Pt Stanvac   8)

Not sure of the year, but was 1990ish. 520 hauled a charter trip to Noarlunga Centre. The 'Sunshine Flummery Special' or something like that.
