Not sure what the consist was as it was dark when I went past this morning

There was a coalie that went before our train was allowed to leave Emu Plains. I'd say that came down on the Up and crossed over to the Down at Emu Plains as the broken down train was almost above the Castlereagh Road overpass

http://www.sydneytrains.info/service_updates/service_interruptions/service_interruptions_detailed?lineId=sh

Is that a typo? There are only 2 trains that go to Central, the 3:48pm train cannot be it as it is on its way to Goulburn at 6:23pm. The other train from Central departs Campbelltown (after getting back to Moss Vale from Central) at 3:38pm and doesn't get back to Campbelltown until after 6:23pm. Curious.

Major Delays this evening due to a wide spread blackout across the inner west/ south west...

Bankstown Line - Partial Closure

Trains are not running between Sydenham and Bankstown due to the partial closure of the Bankstown Line as a result of an earlier widespread power failure. Passengers are advised to delay their journey as no replacement buses are operating and there are extensive traffic delays in the area. Passengers are also advised to avoid Sydenham Station as there are large crowds. Train tickets can be used to catch regular bus services but passengers should allow plenty of additional travel time. As a result of the power failure, passengers travelling on the Airport & East Hills Line and Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line should also allow additional travel time, listen to announcements and check indicator boards.

As a result Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and Airport & East Hills line also experienced delays...

The M5 tunnel was closed which caused massive traffic delays throughout the area which banked up across the city.
