AK cars lost their panto near Auburn Rd bridge Birrong. Lay of points suggest coming off the Dn goods and heading towards Sefton. Panto must have only just been raised as there is not much wire left over the goods lines. Observed contact wire registration arm being replaced on Birrong Stn side of bridge. 8152+AK cars+8183.

2 signals affected by track failure after Teralba, meant trains had to trip past two signals - the delays built up quite quickly and lasted a while that day.

I was on a Macarthur run and at Central they said it now would be first stop Revesby, via Sydneham.  You beaut I thought, I was running late and this will really help.  Guard said he didn't know why.  Woke up at a stand outside Bevo.  Guard explained there were probs with the points.  Did a good job keeping us informed. Probably there about 15-20mins.  Got home late!!

I've been on a couple of services this year that were delayed where it ended up benefiting myself and fellow customers. The best one was where the service became an express; we all had a 2 or 3 seater each (no sharing!), and went flying by stations crowded with others who would have normally packed themselves into our train... and we found ourselves now and then alongside another train with customers packed in with hardly enough room to breathe.
