Still experiencing delays over 3 hours later. Unless someone pulled a machine gun at Central they clearly don't know how to deal with an issue and get trains running.

The Newcastle and Central Coast line is out for trackwork this weekend. Busses are replacing trains between Newcastle and Central, and I absolutely love it.

We get a coach service departing to and from the city every 5 minutes most of the day, and never have to wait more than 15 minutes, including late at night and in the middle of the day.

Leaving the city late at night is so much easier - instead of having to wait up to an hour or more for a train, there's a bus leaving within 10-15 minutes whatever time you get to the bus stop near central station.

I would actually love it if they did this every weekend instead of running the infrequent train service (especially the crappy 4 car Oscar trains with hard seats that they like to run on weekends)

Most of the coaches have nice comfortable seats as well Smile

I'm actually sending this now from one of the busses!

Something happening on the line just north of Campbelltown. 7:17 sydenham service has been sitting off the set of signals just outside the station for about 8 min now. Then announcement about not stopping and the service is cancelled. R/R signals on the platform signals so something is mighty messed up.
