Southern Highlands Line - Service Cancellations
CityRail advises passengers travelling on the Southern Highlands Line that the 6.14pm Moss Vale to Campbelltown service and the 7.38pm Campbelltown to Moss Vale sevice have been cancelled due to a train requiring mechanical repairs.

Buses have been arranged to replace these services.

Be prepared. One set short results in tomorrows 605am Moss Vale to Goulburn and 724am Goulburn to Sydney Terminal being only two cars, unless the mechanical failure is the windscreen wiper in which case this cab would be marshalled in the centre

CityRail advises that trains have been suspended on the Blue Mountains Line between Penrith and Lithgow in both directions due to a truck on the line at Blackheath and lightning strikes at Lawson damaging signal equipment. Major delays can be expected.

Bus companies are being contacted to operate a replacement service between Penrith and Lithgow until train services can resume.

CityRail recommends train travellers between Penrith and Lithgow delay their journey or make alternative arrangements. Customers are advised to call the Transport Infoline on 131500 for the latest recorded updates before going to their station.

Blue Mountains Line - Delays of 20-30 minutes
CityRail advises that train services have resumed operating on the Blue Mountains Line following lightning strikes damaging signalling equipment at Lawson and a truck on the line at Blackheath last night.

Repair crews are on site continuing to repair the signalling equipment that was damaged as a result of the lightning strike. Delays of 20-30 minutes can still be expected. Buses may also supplement some services.

Don't you mean the 81 was pulling the S set because of power supply failures at Mortdale not broken down.

Anyone know what service was broken down this morning on Platform 1 at Parramatta? And also the train that seemed to be backed up behind it? Thanks.

the K set that broke down was a north sydney service, havent heard yet what the problem was there, and there was an R set going to hornsby behind it when I came through on the back of a Vset, by this time the K set was already unloaded of passengers.

Airport & East Hills Line - Major delays
CityRail advises that trains have been delayed on the Airport & East Hills Line between Kingsgrove and East Hills in both directions due to essential signal equipment repairs at Revesby. Major delays can be expected.

Bus companies have been contacted to operate a replacement service between Kingsgrove and East Hills. Buses are expected to start arriving at stations within 30 minutes.

CityRail apologises to customers who have experienced lengthy delays due to this incident.

Repair crews are on site and working to restore train services as soon as possible. At this stage there is no forecast of when the line can be reopened. Further information will be provided as information becomes available.

The airport line yesterday was running fine when I came back from the Southern Highlands at about 5:30pm or so! Didn't take long to fix

Southern Highlands Line - Major delays.
CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the Southern Highlands Line in both directions due a report of a dangerous substance leaking from a Pacific National freight train near Mittagong. Police and emergency services are in attendance. At this stage there is no forecast of when the line can be reopened. Major delays can be expected.

Bus companies have been contacted to operate a replacement service between Picton and Moss Vale until train services can resume.

Numerous bus companies have been contacted, however due to their own commitments only a limited number of buses are available.

A shuttle train service is now operating between Picton and Campbelltown in both directions.

CityRail recommends that travellers either delay their journey or make alternative travelling arrangements if they can do so. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

And on the only afternoon where I intended to head down to Lewisham. Ended up walking down there from Ashfield that afternoon. Explains the helicopter that showed up around 1400-1430.

Was a really interesting afternoon. Police, a Fire truck and a few rescue squads vehicles around. Kind of ironic how it happen at Summer Hill station, being that the ambulance station is right across the road.

After that, it took me around 40 minutes to get into the City (had other arrangements).

Good timing too when this happened. Right on the start of the evening peak.

It's a shame how these things happen.
