Members (and other) Image Collections

  Hendo Deputy Commissioner

Spurred by a comment on the wagons and containers thread by 42101, I thought I would collate a list of Railpage members who have image websites.

I am happy to continue updating it showcasing your work, if you want your website included. I just need your website address!

Cheers,
Hendo

I would highly recommend a visit to 409's Rail video collections/websites at http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11340680.htm that compliments this list

Remember respect the photographer’s rights, don't pinch their pictures, copyright abuse is still theft!

Thank you  to 42101, Toad and M636C for the inspiration. Thank you to MGH for cleaning up my formatting. Now if Toad would create a representative sub-site of Pilbara rolling stock and infrastructure ......... I'd be as happy as a pig in ........ Very Happy Dark Blue

Hmm. Click on "Contact", then click on "Profile, and then click on the link. It would much easier if you included the URL in your signature.

Fair enough. Although it's still not visible without having to go out and find it. I certainly would never have found your photo site without you pointing it out. I trust you don't have a job in marketing Smile

Cookie and Dutton Bay,

I'm with you I never knew that member had pics and trying to find them via profiles is a pain. But then again he has said he doesn't want his link included!

Cookie, regarding your point about where this thread should be, I don't know, the photography SIG thread description is quite specific "Discussion about photography of railways (and trams). Including discussion on films, cameras, and other equipement." In my mind as aq non-photographer it isn't a link I would go straight to when asking questions about what images people have for loco's and rolling stock, or for that matter signals and infrastructure, but if there is a list that I can search through .................. I think my idea is also borne out by the number of images posted here at loco's and rolling stock.

As you are probably aware I also posted a note over at the photography SIG pointing them to this thread, so others can have their input.

With regards to a sticky, sure if the mods think it is worth it.

Cheers,
Hendo

Yes I see your point because many a time I have come her and found people posting pictures on specific rollingstock and loco's or people wanting information on a certain loco may also request a picture or post one themselves though. I still believe this will be a valuable resource when it comes to viewing photos so therefore it should become a sticky!

Just found this thread ... just a note with QRIG, for some reason Google Analytics are using Chinese servers, and of course most spam blockers will be wondering what the hell?. It had me anxious for a bit also thinking someone had hacked the site again :p

Rocket,

Thank you, I will include the sites individually when I have a chance to look at their content to identify which state they should go in. I will also include thelink as a group site.

Video, would you like to take on the challenge? Along a similar vein, one or a group of the photographers may, also like to compile a similar list for railfan spots, another Railpage member has suggested it could be along the lines of http://www.trainspots.co.uk/index.php, now that would be a really great resource!
