Whats the best way to find them on ebay?
Tried ho model rail, model railways but only come back with a couple of items
"ozibob"
Sorry?

This bloke is a bit ambitious.  NR17 National Rail, NR59 SteelLink, and NR55 TrailerRail, with a starting bid of $320, and a Eureka 620/720 starting at $700.

Isn't it amazing the number of private sellers on eBay who only test run their models?  Laughing

I take it alot of these bidders aren't aware of the Austrains 442 re-run: http://tinyurl.com/a24swk

True about the test runs there, but what exactly doe's it tell us, was it run up an down a length of track or was it run round the full Layout "Arid Australia" 10 laps! Both could be deemed test runs! 8)

The sad part is that this was somebody's pride and joy handiwork, the really sad part is that somebody has bought this piece of absolute smeg, so who is going to own up to it.
I shouldn't say this BUT I hope the persons who painted/then bought this crap is reading these pages, I want to tell them to GET OUT OF MODEL RAILWAYS, go and collect Barbies or sea shells instead.

Have a heart hosk1956 it could be stripped of paint and repainted or used for parts, I have seen models about the same calibre as that and a paint strip and a decent paint job does wonders. I had to do a young NRM members Red Hen railcar that looked somewhat similar, it looked like it was painted with a tar brush, were words I heard to describe it.

Took it home disassembled it and stripped it back to the bare plastic and then repainted it, no one that previously had seen it could believe the transformation a repaint can do! But just do not ask me to do another one like this, not for a long while! LaughingLaughing

Oh and I should add that I did not buy it, I cannot stand Evilbay as it is sometimes described!

Agreed. The paintwork was appallingly bad, but it's a "renovator's delight"!

It's the second time that NR52 has been pulled off. Is he going to try again?

Bit harsh. I have a box somewhere at mums with Yank loco bodies that look like i dipped them in a tin of paint! They will never see the light of day, but they helped me learn about modelling, and what not to do. Many models can be resurected, just ask my mate! His pride and joy a Northern Models body (X class) on an Athearn chassis dropped from a stool it was sitting on and smashed into a thousand pieces. I took the model home and rebuilt it, touched up the paint and it was in as good a shape as it was before the thing hit the floor. Makes you think, almost anything can be of some value, even if only a learning curve.

Frosty can you shorten the link, as it's making the topic hard to read. or best still not post the link, as it maybe helping them, as the starter of the thread stated.

Simply, if you think the Ebay price is high, don't bid, sellers will soon get the message.[/b]

What the hell? He said bidding started at 99c and it's now at $1,225?

Damn, I could buy a couple of Auscision Bs and then some with that kind of money.

Read the questions and answers on the listing and it's clear that it's all BS.

If you can make out the 'documents', that's further proof.

As for the letters, I wonder if Mr Christopher Barton really does live at 15 Barabara St, Woodend Vic?... Apparently not, but Stuart Drive is pretty close.
