8030 and GML10 on the Down POTA Horsham service today.

No sign of 8027.  So GML10 is getting right amongst it.

Todays UP service has not yet materialised at Bunbury Street.  Let's see the configuration when it arrives.

Aren't I.C.E radios only needed up in NSW, or to talk to the ARTC controllers? For heading to Horsham they need the ancient 1980s Motorola units, for the ASW safeworking and DICE controlled crossing loops between Gheringhap and Maroona. Or do they just use the portable set? (aka "steam box")

I think it's more a case of ARTC setting a precedent; any locomotive that's reactivated to operate on their network must be fitted with one. And who's to say it will be captive on the Horsham for eternity?

GML10 is fitted with an ICE radio but its not commissioned yet so we cant use it, they are going to fit it with a steambox when it goes in for repairs and final fitout and repairs etc, been told by management that it will be the next to go in after 8030 comes out of the workshop, it will be in there for around 2 weeks so we have been told and by that time hopefully we can lead with it!!
