Many work through to Eaglehawk theses days.
Epsom services may be served by an empty car movement In one direction.
There is also a possibility of container traffic out of Kyabram and an even vaguer one of Tongala traffic.
The possibility of passenger traffic on this line has also been canvassed for many years. A 65 kph freight speed could lead to an 80 kph railmotor speed, this may work out faster than present bus schedules.
Hopefully through services, and would it be safe to assume so, given Epsom is unlikely to have a crossing loop for terminating services
How many services terminate at Bendigo Station ?

Was up along the line last weekend.Speed limit will be 50km/h I'm told and open very soon with the first train most likely going to rumble across there over the next lot of school holidays.
Sleeper replacement seems to have been done, with a lot of sleepers bening replaced. in some sections it was every one, while others 1 in 2 or 1 in 3. perhaps replacing what was needed to be.
Quite a number of balast piles spread out along the line, with a high rail tipper truck noted at one location. Possibly going to use those rather than a balast train. Balast tamper was on the down side of the baulks at Toolamba, so guess they where planing on starting to balast soon. maybee class 3 track when they are done, rather than the class 5 it probably was. 60-80 km/h running i would surmise.
Train Orders. The Deni Rice Train will be using this section on a needs basis. The main route is via Bendigo.Wrong. The Deni rice train will use this route all the time for two reasons (i) the Company needs and wants to use containers of greater height that will not fit through the tunnels on the existing route via Bendigo. Running via Toolamba removes the current restriction . (ii) both VLP and the Freight Operator prefer to have the train away from the single line sections of the Bendigo line where any delay tends to cascade to other services.

Do Vline currently have capacity issues on the Bendigo Line?
