Yeah nah I will wait for Auscision's versions of 48' cons. They will be cheaper no doubt. Postage also a ripoff.

Wonder what the update on the 2300's is?

At Poath Junction, but you have to PAY the club membership fee to get free postage.

But they are only boxes, what's wrong with making them yourselves? Surely in this case, it wouldn't be that hard.
And the same goes for any other supplier.

(Nuh, wasn't going to quote Poath's post, easier that way)

They are more than just boxes because they have corrugated sides and ends, then you have to purchase paint in the appropriate colours and produce your own artwork to make decals where they are not commercially available.

SRM do not intentionally apply "rip off" postage charges, the first order form suffered a simple cut 'n paste error when a proforma was reused. If you place an order for say 5 v/locities SRM will arrange a cheaper than Aust Post courier services and only charge the actual courier cost instead of pocketing the extra $25.

The newly added freepost offer is obviously in response to a competing product that hadn't been announced before SRM's containers were revealed.

Hi all, I've literally just started with the hobby and looks like I've missed my chance for Xplorer/Endeavour models... does anyone know if they'd ever do a re-run of these?

Be very careful if you are thinking of picking one up second hand as the diecast chassis are prone to sagging on the cab ends due to substandard metal being used. I have seen some in my club where the owners has disassembled the model and tried to bend them back only to snap them off. Make sure you ask the question of the owner before purchasing.

Do a ring-around of hobby shops (see SRM website for resellers) While SRM may have sold out there's a chance hobby shops still have some. I know my local - Austral Modelcraft in Brisbane - still have a limited number of both Endevours and Xplorers. Also I recall Barnes Hobbies in Newcastle might still have some.

Interesting news about the possibility of a fix for the problems with the Xplorer/Endevour sets, been a long time coming.
