Certainly it had a very well-known passenger at one time, who was responsible for a few robberies and came close to causing a derailment; but that never happened because of the action of a local schoolteacher. I don't know of an actual robbery at Glenrowan station.
(Incidentally, my great-grandfather, who lived on a property in the area, spoke to Ned on the platform as he was lying on a stretcher waiting to be taken to Melbourne by train; and Ned said to him, "Davy, never tangle with the law, because you'll never win" or words to that effect.)
