They always appear in reverse chronological order for me, whether or not I'm logged in.

I suspect that it's your own settings.

I get the oldest first too which isn't that annoying but I would rather click the thread name and see the newest one as hard to tap on the highest number in the thread on an iPad and iPhone

Is there a way of changing the settings to show newest first? I have tried to do it but RP always comes back next to oldest first. Suggestions welcome!

At the bottom of each thread there's the option to display all posts (or within a date range) oldest first or newest first. Use this on a per-thread basis until such time as this becomes a selectable preference in your Account.

I would if it worked! But everytime I change it is changes back. Can't do that for every page and every post discussion.
