Well, to kick off this thread, 8114 has either split the points or straight up derailed pretty much right underneath Citylink, blocking the LX near the Ports Diner. PN workers are in attendance. It looks like the first 2 sets of bogies are off the rails.

I was having lunch at the diner when I noticed it.

Nice video NR77, you are brave to be hanging out at Middle Footscray after dark!
"Foamer"

Thanks Foamer, normally I would go home at dusk but considering I was at a well lit station and I had a friend with me, I was determined to get AM3! I didn't want to miss getting the Southern Spirit and IP NR's on the one train!

The IEV consist is currently stabled in Macaulay sidings probably due to the derailment blocking Hollands Loop and hence access to the storage yard at Nth Melbourne.

This afternoon while at Bunbury St I noticed a PN well wagon being shunted in a consist with a broken cross beam support, not sure how serious this kind of problem is but assuming PN weren't aware of it would it be worth reporting? The wagon concerned is RQZY 7045E.

Some quick shots from today at North Shore station.
I used my phone to take the snaps, but if the bloke on the bike (also taking pics) posts here he will have some decent shots.

I would report it. Safety is always paramount in a workplace such as the railways.

Was the cross brace flapping up and down as the wagon was moving ?

I guess It would of been, there for weakening the end that's still attached.

The whole cross brace could very easily break off, If unchecked.

A quick fix would be to gas axe the brace off (as It's not doing what It was designed to do, more the opposite)
