I guess we will see what happens when the smoke clears. not unherd of for some funky setups to protect assets when things go south. One company holds all the debts, while another holds the assets. Does seem those locos on lease are being reclaimed by their owners however.

comments on facebook that PN have taken over the AWB contract, in an act of good faith, and will run it until a new one can be put to market using a mix of the AWB owned and their own rolling stock. Will take a look tomorrow at the rake of wagons that where at Nth Shore and see if they are still there tomorrow.

For reference, the SG rake of wagons that was being used in western parts remains stabled at North Shore, Geelong. Last report i saw had the other rake, with locos, stabled at Oaklands. Does this remain current? and does anyone know where the BG rake is?

Warnambool train remains operational with a single metro B. Apparently a Y is being used as a banker out of Warnambool, and being left at Camperdown. Makes lots of noise through Geelong late in the evernings.

I was under the impression that it was crewed by El Zorro.

Out of the regular El Zorro operations, who were the contracts actually with? As I understand it, the Warrnambool and Toc trains were actually with RPE but operated by El Zorro. Were the Illuka mineral sands and AWB grain trains direct to El Zorro or through some other company?

I'm guessing that they still have use of the B because it's sub-hired from Metro rather than direct from CFCLA?

RPE has the Toc service I am aware of that.  Regional Port Enterprises has received money from the government to subsidise the TOC service.

Did the lads at Junee pick up work with any of the other operators in the area? Poor upper management!

Above it mentions the VGR hired T333 which I understand is at SRHC because it had a engine failure, what about the other tourist railways that have stuff on hire to El Zorro, SGR's T342, SRHC's loco's and all the rolling stock from these various TR's. What happens to all these items and when will the TR's see the return of there various items ?

1201 and 1202 to Qube

Local contact at Mount Vernon saying 1203 not shipped as of early April, 1204 and 1205 still not completed

Of the 9 locos announced by NREC for 2013 delivery, the remaining four are 1100 type GT26C clones

There have been no EL Zorro grain trains running via Bunbury Street or Gheringhap Loop for a few days.  Is this it?  All said and done on the grain side?

Is it definite that El Zorro has gone belly up, or are we all just anticipating the event?

El Zorro staff on Sydney radio this morning, looking for assistance with un-paid wages. It ain't right and I hope that those involved find employment quickly. You don't have a business if you don't have any employees.

I have been told that Zorro has to close its doors today. Apparently ordered by courts. Sister company RPE is not far behind.

Sily question, but who is this "RPE" that has been mentioned? Is it RailPower, who have S312 painted in their colours?

JNSymes
RailPower are a seperate group based in Goulburn who hire locomotives.

Regional Port Enterprises (?) is RPE, as I understand it. A subsidiary company of El Zorro or something along those lines.
