That's what the driver who hit me last year thought about their driving too. Once her insurer had paid for the replacement bike, new helmet, smashed iPad, ruined clothes and alternative transport during my recovery I helpfully printed out a free cycle license and sent it to her with a set of the DPTI's BikeDirect maps to help her get around during her car license suspension.

That's a nice gesture, but she probably would've just driven anyway.

What does not help Kilkenny Road/David Terrace is the fact that some smeghole thought it a good idea to make it one lane in one direction and one in the other, the road area that could be used used to be a lot larger and it is still there except the painted it so you have to drive between the lines and form a single lane. This has made these roads worse than they were before though and the end result is long lines of vehicles sometimes even in off peak or good weather conditions. Add a level crossing in the middle of it and it is just asking for trouble though as drivers are already upset at the hold up before they get to the level crossing so they are willing to chance it if the level crossing operates.

There are camera's set up here to photograph red light runners when the crossing activates what it might need on such installations is a live camera mounted with the red light camera so that the crossings can be monitored from the Adelaide Metro train control in Adelaide. Even the red light camera's do not deter them from taking a chance, I see at least one or two just waiting for a train at Kilkenny and that is usually only about a 5-10 minute wait at times sometimes even less.

No trains north of Woodville this weekend to allow signalling works at StClair. What are they doing that requires two full days? I assume the southern end ped crossing will be installed and commissioned, anything alse that couldn't be done during the earlier closures?

There is no rail line now North Of Woodville, it used to be called the Finsbury line, but the Outer Harbor line runs West of Woodville!

Outer Harbor line clearly runs north west of Woodville. If it ran due west it would run to West Lakes (google maps)

And it sounds even more sensible when you consider that where the Grange spur turns off after Woodville, at the last spot visible from the Outer Harbor line it is seen going due west!

The bearing from Woodville towards the terminus at Outer Harbor is 337°, which is right on north-north-west and quite appropriately summed up as north at times when details don't matter.

It could do with a re-tamping in a lot of places actually!
