    I do apologise Raichase. I honestly should have double checked my spelling before hitting send. I hope you can accept my apologies. Honestly I didn't mean to mis-spell your name.

    I do understand where you are coming, but I would say before any booked seats application or system could be put in place, then the fleet would need to be fully made accessible before this happens - just from a wheelchair users perspective at least.

    The only thing is that if you have a booked seats system, would commuters expect like "first class" system like most UK based train companies provide??

    I completely agree with you once again, accessibility of all rail services should be paramount. Everyone has the right to board a bus/train/ferry, no matter what their situation. The ever increasing fleet of low floor buses, the Waratah trains are all a great step forward. Why intercity passengers should be overlooked, I don't know.

    As for the first class section, I imagine that's discussion best fleshed out in a separate thread.

    Official answer why we are overlooked is because they tend to say it all comes down to $$$$ but given the case action CityRail/NSW Government lost about announcements, I dare think they are trying to come up with something. Real reason, they have no idea how to go about making things easier for disabled users. You only have to read the damn accessbility plan which really offered no real solution really.

    Though I have to say I am not a fan of the Waratah's pure because of boarding assistance cards that were being handed out to disabled passengers but staff refuse to (at least at most of the stations I use) hand them out because they (and I along with many other disabled commuters and organisations agree with) believe they are detrimental and demeaning to users.

    I quite like that photo posted, is it genuine or PhotoShopped?

    I think it's photoshopped, but we saw the set the other day in normal livery.

    Oh, please don't tell me that the inside is NOT photoshopped.

    Shouldn't this be the "New NSW TrainLink" thread, as isn't the new Sydney Trains meant Sydney suburban stock?

    Then that would be a case to call them intercities.

    Do they really need to change the colour scheme though? Just change the logo should be enough.

    The XPTs and Xplorers have only recently been repainted in another CountryLink livery, so do you know if they are going to paint them in similar to that V-Set?

    This is my opinion from a political angle. The way I see things as it stands. Bazza and Gladys have allocated a lot of money for the rails.
    Baird screwed up big time in regards to his first budget blowout.
    The allocation of money for transport is a good thing and well overdue.
    In hindsight all the ppl of Sydney have received so far is basically a new lick of paint. The gov can promise and announce grand plans for a world class network. But they will need another term to full fill the promises.
    I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt and hope they are successful.
    For the record I did not vote for Bazza.
    My political loyalty is not aligned with anyone. Imagine if the greens were running the show? We would all be pedaling to make the trains move.

    I understand that this has been the heaviest June rainfall in six years. I've no basis for my statement, but I'd suggest that six years ago, all of the rain didn't arrive over the course of one week - it's a freak rainfall, and things like this are bound to happen. I've been surprised that nothing else has happened up until now, actually. I thought it would put a damper on the trackwork, but the crews seem to have pushed through it - passing Ashfield this afternoon, there are a lot of turnouts missing, and plenty of new track, despite the horrible weather.

    Actually, the Monday morning peak wouldn't be that much of a problem, since it is blocking one of the Down lines, the afternoon peak will be a different story.
