Does the government have any plans as to HOW both lines will be converted? Frequency levels, new underground tracks or existing platform and tracks, which route the metro will take etc. ??
Option A suggests there are 12 DD tph on the Bankstown Line while Option B and C suggests a 12 tph SD frequency during peak hours. SD trains accommodate much fewer people so how would the capacity of 12 DD trains be the equivalent of 12 SD trains? I THINK THERE'S A MISTAKE. 12 DD trains are about the equivalent of 18 SD trains!!
But anyway, thanks for that!
Notably, once the Bankstown Metro is in operation (with SD trains), K/C sets in Sector 2 will discontinue rostered services and instead used for emergency/filling in maintenance gaps from other sets/standby duties.
I'm concerned with the lack of planning made to change, modify and build onto the existing line for conversion to SD metro trains. This plan has yet come to reality, and in my opinion, it provides little improvements to these existing lines and it's a waste of money and time.
