Millswood Station re-opening 12 month trial

Maybe they could have spent the money upgrading Torrens Park rather than opening another station and making the line even slower

But that would not have increased the coverage of the service for anyone.

The facilities at Torrens Park are adequate for the usage it receives, and it is well down the list of stations deserving an upgrade. Hell, many bus stops are more deserving of an upgrade.

Well I guess a trial's success all comes down to your definition of success.

This one was clearly declared a success even before it was started.

If it was actually a trial, they would have used a cheap and cheerful demountable platform instead of erecting a gold plated monument.

That's certainly where all the skill lies in a feasibility study.

Money well spent for the six people who use it every now and then.

Come on, be fair, 15,000 for a year works out to at least 41 per day. Probably more than North Adelaide or Lonsdale...

Do trains actually stop at North Adelaide? I thought it was permanently closed.

A check of the Gawler line timetable shows many but not all peak-hour services stop at North Adelaide, but almost none off-peak and on weekends.

It has now been roughly 6 years since i helped campaign for Millswood to be reopened through contacting the then transport minister, local messenger paper, and state member for Ashford, all at the tender age of 14-15.

Millswood is still going strong, and even i have used the station a few times to get to commitments such as a child safe training course and a local football game that i needed to umpire.
