Some of this class has been moving west from Victoria and NSW over the past few weeks.  Heard they are going into storage.  Any more details?

From what I've seen on the net the following are stored (including long-term retiree DL36 as a shell at EDI Port Augusta):

Rural and Bulk allocated DL's 38, 46 and 49 (NRCv1)

Intermodal DL's 39, 43 (AN) and 48 (AN).

Intermodal allocated DL's 40, 41, 44 (NRCv1) and 47 have been popping up on the MC2/CM3 services from time to time while DL50 is a regular on the IP from Adelaide to Sydney and return, leaving 42 and 45 in service with R&B though I'm not sure if they still are.

So far as I know the R&B DL's are at Werris Creek while the Intermodal ones are at Port Augusta, along with the three XRB's.

A convenient place for them? A workshops right there when they're required for a return to service? Low storage costs? It could be anything.

It could even be that PN sent them there for s***s and giggles but I doubt it.

They're bowing to local enthusiast pressure in each state to send "their" locos home. Next, X Class to Victoria for scrap.

Except AN's. Standing orders remain that thou shalt not let AN's into SA. Exceptions currently exist if the AN must go through SA, it must be a trailing unit lest it send the states populace into orgasmic overload.

All bar DL36 which is being slowly reclaimed by mother nature (not sure if anyone will actually admit to owning it!)

That was 39, but it went west last Sunday on 6WP2 with DL48. DL38's with Bulk and hasn't been in Vic for quite a while

In a surprising move, DL's 39 & 48 have been put on the Leigh Creek coal train. 39 was first placed on it Wednesday/Thursday, with 48 put on it just this morning. Great to see some previously stored DL's back in use, but does this mean the PA-based 82's are to be returned to NSW?

At 17.00 today DL50 and NR25, which I assume had brought in today's eastbound IP were still parked on the engine release road between platforms 3 & 4 at Sydney Central. Usually they would have been long gone by this time, the DL returning to Adelaide on the westbound IP and the inbound NR running light engine down to Chullora.

Also it's a bit ominous to hear DL45 travelled as fifth engine on a train to Werris Creek today (previous post above). I doubt it was there as essential power for the movement - 4 x 81 should be enough in anyone's book - and we know what Werris Creek is famous for at the moment! I'd already had an inkling that DL45 might be heading for a different future when it went north out of Sydney behind 8126 on Wednesday evening's lightly loaded Clyde - Morandoo Cement and Sugars train.

Total time spent on Google: 10 seconds
Total time spent on Railpage search: 15 seconds

Given that those two features must not work on your computer I will fill you in: This train runs between two 60kg rails, or lighter gauge depending on the location.
The customer is the person who owns and is exporting the ore.

For the benefit of other users, who may not know better. The service runs between Blayney (Sorry, should have put a spoiler alert for that revelation) and Port Kembla, in NSW.
The customer is Cadia Valley Operations, who are fully owned by Newcrest mining, a well known gold mining company.

Will check to see what DL is on the Griffith CM run Monday (couldn't see the number in the dark from my room) unless  zaitseff comments on it first if he made it to Griffith Saturday afternoon.

Reported elsewhere that trackwork prevented the locos from being released from the platforms. Perhaps Sydney Yard too congested due to additional suburban traffic redirected from City Circle?
