    We moved the radio a single click to the left and found the power feeds intruding onto the image.  Wee placed it back in the original position and will consider moving the camera 8 metres to the right and remounting all installing a second camera to test front on.

    This is due to the radio link having a marginal signal due to where the radio is currently positioned.  Too wet to work on the roof at the present time.

    I wanted to say just what a great job this Albion camera system is.  The location and the proximity of the camera to the running lines makes the images probably the best of all the cameras. Is it possible to move the camera to the left a little so the image is more front on to the camera?  

    If this could be achieved the loco numbers would probably be easier to collect.

    In addition, are there plans to allow for the adding of sparks to the database of sightings?  I know there are a lot of train spotters who are interested in spark numbers and this it would seem might be able to make things a little easier.

    I check the sightings link and the camera images where the loco has been tagged do not appear.

    What is the point of tagging if it does not go into a sighting so you can see where the locomotive has been?

    @Michelle12 has done a good job of the cameras.  Make it count.

    Pictures coming through today and yesterday. Tracks machine and all. No metro services or vline except Albury. Could be closed for trackwork as per metro trains website.

    A rooftop installer has been booked to now complete the remaining tasks at Albion.  The installation of a 3M pole on the roof top, conduit and cabling to the roof from the comms cabinet and the installation of the radio equipment.

    Commissioning of the radio equipment will be completed by Myself.  Camera changes will be implemented at the same time as a new camera is being added with a more front on view to test this approach.

    The new camera is a new model and brand we have not yet tried so I am interested to see how this works.  The camera will supply both images and video.  The images supplied for each train movement are not a single image but a series of images similar to that of Gheringhap Loop camera 3.

    Video of the train will be sent to the Railpage servers.

    Looks as though a lot of planning has gone into this new site.

    The idea of seeing video for the trains going by would be very very cool.

    The roof top works have been completed.  The rain stayed away long enough for all the cabling and installation works to be completed.  We have 3 radios on the rooftop and space for the camera has been created.  4 cables have been installed between the roof and the communications cabinet which was also installed.

    Radio link is viable and working well.  Camera #1 at Albion no changes.  Camera #2 installation later this week if I can get to it.

    Switching of images taken by  camera 1 from the site is working a treat. You should now catch every train passing the camera is the design is working properly which I now think it is.

    Next service interruption will likely be thursday evening to permit the in cabinet cabling to be completed.

    Well done to all involved in the works. The photos look fantastic.

    A stead stream of photos with the exception of late yesterday afternoon until the evening when they started again.

    About a 2 hour break in the photo stream.

    I have installed the correct LIVE URL for Albion.  Do you think I can find the LIVE view button to test it?  Are my eyes playing tricks?  Hell I am confused.

    Make that 24 hours.  Investigations are underway.  Not sure of the problem at this time. Will advise when I have an update.

    The issues at Albion have been permanently rectified.  The installer failed to adequately tighten the radio mounting bolts so in the wind over the past 24 hours the radio dish was knocked off alignment.  Radio has been aligned and retested and working fine.  Around 20 dBm link margin now available on the GHO segment.

    Images should now continue to flow.

    We also placed the secondary link into test between Albion and Williamstown.  25 dBm link margin on that segment with around 40 megabit/sec capacity.  Should help a lot.

    Is the live webcam up?

    The reason that /live is not working is because the image is pointing to a password protected page.

    Just make a new view only username and no password and it should be fine.
