A somewhat interesting development (possibly).I noticed that as well. However, 5917 is currently in steam at Branxton and is scheduled to run LE to Eveleigh tomorrow (Friday) morning. The TAA for the Thirlmere Flyer indicates that the plan was a diesel to haul the carriages for the Flyer to Sydney early Saturday, 5917 to haul the Flyer out to Thirlmere on Saturday morning with 6029 returning the train on Saturday arvo, staying overnight in Sydney and hauling Sunday's Flyer out to Thirlmere. 5917 would then return to Sydney with the Sunday afternoon run. I don't know if an amendment for the TAA has been issued, but the Train Works web site for the Festival seems to imply that the Garratt is hauling the Flyer in both directions on Saturday, back out to Thirlmere on Sunday morning with 3642 taking the train back in on Sunday arvo. I guess its a case of wait and see.
It seems 5917 has dropped off the list of locos, while 3265 has been added.
I checked last weekend and both these locos were included, but now apparently 5917 won't be there.
Shame, but with 3265 set to replace 2705 on the loop-line shuttles, it will be good to see it steaming.
The loco line up as advertised on the FoS website has changed at least 4 times in the past fortnight.
I'm told it was tabled out of Branxton at 06.45, through Broadmeadow at around 09.00 after being turned on the Islington triangle, but at around 12.00 I heard from a person who has been up around Sandgate for most of the morning that it has not gone past him.I've not heard of any sightings of 5917 this morning. The path that it was scheduled to run on had it through Broadmeadow by now, so it may not be ready. I'm told it was programmed to run as 8Z02.BW do you have any times please?
