Ok thanks! just need to get things organised to get down in time! We've got a bit of drizzle around Warabrook now.
Sure. The consist left Brooklyn at 08.29am.
Side note; What is the purpose of the tank wagon that seems to follow 6029 around? I would assume it's for additional water capacity? The wagon is known as a water gin. In the halcyon days of steam, a loco could pull up beside a 200 or 250 mm standpipe, and take on about 20,000 litres of water in 5 or 6 minutes. Nowadays, just about all these facilities have gone. It is very time consuming to take water via a fire hose or similar, and the best idea is to take your own water with you. The gin has a hose connection to the tender tank. When the train gets to its destination, it can take water into the tender and gin without being in a rush.
