Can guarantee there will be no freight company involved. Will come out maybe 4 - 5 times a year if that. Full boiler assessment being done today on the loco.

Well, it's good that the loco won't be rusting away, it should be out working and pulling in the crowds. But it's a pity that Canberra has lost its major drawcard, just when there's the hint of a possibility of a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

This is indeed excellent news.

Some blokes always wanted a GT falcon a Monaro, that special bike. This is a serous big boys toy.

Congratulations to the new owners, and all the very best in the future.

Nice to hear from Lowndes that the boiler assessment is being done, because it would seem to indicate that the new owners are serious about looking after the loco, and keeping it roadworthy ( railworthy?)

Have you never known websites that fail to keep up to date? I'd put money on Lowndes knowing what he's talking about.

Associate is rumoured to be David Sommerville ex President of the ARHS Canberra. Wonder how that will go down if true.

Given one of the other bidders counted the president prior to that amongst its number, probably a lot better.

I saw this article that basically says nothing but presumably entices people to buy the magazine:

I noted on Facebook that 6029 was doing steam trials at Thirlmere this week to test the loco and identify any further repairs.  The owner indicated it may be on the mainline in 2 months,

Too late for Thirlmere next week, but just in time for Maitland?

Just saw the video. Better get rid of the ACT Coat of Arms on the bunker, too.
