Through XPT Syd - Brisbane in Feb?

I tried booking a trip for Feb but the online booking only allows one option which is bus partway. The NSW website only talks about planned stoppages in part of January but is there some reason through trains are not running in Feb?

Thanks.

Doesn't seem like it to me.

I got the option of taking the XPT and then the option of a bus partway right below it. The dates I tried were the first and fifth days of February.

Thanks

XPT has been missing from Brisbane the last few days.

The Transport for NSW/NSW TrainLink website still has the North Coast XPT from Sydney Terminal to Roma Street available for booking, although with one disclaimer:

"NSW TrainLink have been advised of potential industrial action being undertaken by rail unions, customers are advised to reconfirm travel arrangements for the period of the 28th to the 30th of January. Customers are advised to defer travel arrangements."
The People's Transport Ministry

It seems confusing that a train service that isn't running would still be available for booking. I also know the North Coast XPT from Grafton to Sydney (i.e. ex-Grafton XPT) is operational. That's because I saw it on Thursday on its way to Sydney Terminal, spot on time and running as normal.

Cheers

Actually, is this thread referring to the daylight service? It seems the overnight XPT is available for booking but the daytime train only goes to Casino before intending passengers haver to change to a coach, hence extending the journey time by one hour.

I tried a one way southbound journey on Fri Feb 23 for daytime. It shows Brisbane to Central and times of 0455 to 2010 but also has the comment of "Trackwork and/or service alerts for this journey". Nowhere does it expand on what that last sentence means. When you search the website for service alerts it really only has anything cropping up in the next week.

The whole purpose of the trip is to see the whole line and I'd sooner not travel if part of it was on a bus.

Wasn't sure if anyone knew what was happening up that way.

Thanks,

I have used this service for short hops in recent weeks.

The trackwork alert comes up all the time, and when I actually get as far as the booking site, the trackwork alert is expanded on, and it refers to the daylight saving issue for Queensland.

That said, it of course cannot be guaranteed that there are not additional QR track work issues from time to time as well that impact this service.

I was in Brisbane 2 or so weeks ago and while looking on Queensland rail/TransLink website it does notify that there will be trackwork in February during the early part of the month

It went south out of Brissie this morning, so must have been some other issue with it not running a few days last week.
