    QR Diesel hauling an EMU (possibly 6 car) set northbound through the Dakabin area at about 11.20am today.

    My position and situation meant that I couldn't see any numbers (only really caught the rooflines)

    And they just returned southbound.

    Perhaps 84&88 being taken out of Petrie, with the diesel changing ends at Narangba then heading south?

    @Red dragon. It was 84 & 88 being turned at Caboolture for another trip to Mayne, they shouldn’t be returning to Petrie this time.

    @Red dragon. It was 84 & 88 being turned at Caboolture for another trip to Mayne, they shouldn’t be returning to Petrie this time.

    Wonder if they are going back into service or out to the 'farm'. I believe there was a process a while back, where units were cycled in and out of service rather than being constantly used (or scrapped).

    Another EMU set under tow by a diesel loco northbound around Dakabin today, about 5 minutes ago. Will keep an ear out for it heading southbound.

    Edit: Loco's returned light engine just now.

    Location: Wynnum North
    Cleveland line this weekend only operating between Murarrie and Cleveland.  Only 4 units needed - all overnighting at Manly.  The only EMU in the mix is 32+55.  Also 206+212. The other two 6 car sets are both 220's.  So nothing newer than 220's on the Cleveland line all weekend.
