I have already started my boycott  of chinese imported goods especially at the supermarket.  I also believe the USA is changing their status of Hong Kong so there are no special provisions.  In India anti chinese sentiment is growing with a boycott in chinese imported goods already happening.

Most of those migrants will want to live in Sydney and Melbourne - if the arrive en mass then where will they live? How will we provide infrastructure like water and power for an additional million or two million people? Where will the jobs come from?

Oh, to your surprise now the protest movement de-facto I'll express my honest opinion on it. I supported and endorse a fair few of their aims. I just think the entire issue got way more airtime in the west and was blown out of proportion with its scale and how rebellious it really was (looking at you reddit) and it being dubbed 'the revolution of our time'. Now for their aims i supported

-Universal suffrage, Understandable, as hong kong has a weird system that allows 3 quarters of its elected officials to be voted in directly by businesses.
-Enquiry into police brutality, Very fair
-Retracting the classification of protesters as rioters (they were not)
-amnesty for arrested protesters

All very reasonable I think you'd agree. I just think the Extradition bill reaction was a little overblown and now they've given the PRC an excuse to move in.

I just don't understand why those predominantly Islamic countries would sign off on a letter like that - seems the CCP have had no trouble mustering support for it though.

Pakistan in particular is a complete mess despite Prime Minister Imran Khan's anti-corruption drive, did you see the discovery a few weeks ago that up to a third of Pakistani-certified pilots aren't actually qualified to be doing their jobs? They found that out after a jet crashed in Karachi short of the runway and realised many 'pilots' actually got someone else to sit their exams for them... yikes!
