Of course he did; it never had a chance. That idiot O'Brien wastes his time, and that of the parliament by grandstanding. If he, Davis and Smith are the best the Libs can do, the ALP can quit worrying. If O'Brien had even half a brain, he would realise that a bipartisan approach months ago would get him far more brownie points than his perpetual whingeing will ever do.

The pools are showing a marked decline in his popularity and I wonder based on this if his stance will soften or will he hold the line on lockdown?

There's only one poll that matters, and it's over two years away; due on 26 November 2022.

Recent polling before todays announcements put Andrews at 52% approval rating, the opposition at a nice 15% for O'Brien (only rising to 27% when comparing Liberal voters)

Yes there are decent people in the Liberal party, but they are nowhere near the top of the ticket. Unfortunately O'Brien, Davis and Smith are the best that matters at the moment, and that is why I will never vote Liberal as long as that is the case.

Mr 15%, O'Brien, is saying he'll lead the party to the next Election.

That's a big oof.

Who do they have to replace him?
Find Pesutto a seat, that would be the liberals only (slight) chance for any credibility

The ALP will be hoping for either Davis or Smith. . . the tired old dog or the young smartasre.

There were a couple of good letters in today's Age about O'Brien. One said he agreed with O'Brien's disbelief of his 15% popularity rating; it couldn't possibly be that high.
The other took O'Brien to task about his foot stamping, attention grabbing display, indicating his conviction that his job is to oppose absolutely everything, instead of  showing some bipartisanship over Covid which could have won him support. The writer ended with a warning; " Remember that the whale only gets harpooned when it comes up to spout."

As if anyone who reads The Age would say anything good about O'Brien.   They would be too busy gushing over the great savior of Victoria, forgetting it was Dan who put us in the back seat to start with.

Until the Libs do some hard graft on policy development, instead of  just hurling abuse and trying to wreck whatever the ALP do, they will continue to be irrelevant. And it wont matter who the leader is. No vision, no plan and no idea, just a born to rule attitude. And the Feds aren't any better.

Yes; Andrews and Co goofed over the hotel quarantine; nobody disputes this. However, he has led us on a path which has a good result and is attracting compliments from other countries - USA is the latest on Seven News this evening. Age readers can actually read, and O'Brien's 15% approval rating isn't anything to write home to mother about.

Now; let's hear from you - what good do you have to say about O'Brien? I won't be hard to get on with; just list one good thing he's done over the past 6 months.

goofed = blundered, made a mistake, was in error, got it wrong, screwed up, made a complete mess of it, fouled up big time, made a bad choice, (tick one).
